  1. Still the same really, good as gold as long as I leave the light off, ive been thinking about it more and ive a theory that she can see the bubbles on the top of the water from thr spray bar better when the light is on and maybe she thinks its food? She actually eats the bubbles :/ Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  2. Sinking pellets and bloodworm Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk And the occasional piece of cucumber Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi guys I havent posted for ages l, life gets in the way! Anyway one of my lovely comets branwen has been getting VERY floaty of an evening, like literally just bobbing around at the top of the tank ( feeding peas like their going out of fashion) but the strange thing if she's completely fine during the day? This has been going on for a while and the only thing that I could see that was different in the evening is that I put the tank light on, so ive left it off this evening and sure enough shes swimming around normally?? What gives? Any ideas much appreciated Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

  6. here is a short video of my new tank im soo pleased to have it up and running, it took me ages to save up for the filters and cabinet http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/07AB96B5-D3CF-45AA-86EF-C786048AC18C-5273-000002F4DA8CA5F2_zps6b2fac88.mp4.html and some pics http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/null_zps15b38b48.jpg.html http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/null_zpse035b7c8.jpg.html
  7. soo beautiful, I neeeed a ranchu
  8. the antibiotic food that the lovely kat m sent me,,she advised that the food needed to be eaten within ten seconds or the medication would dissolve into the water,so i fed the goldies through a syringe,i just wondered if you put it into gelatine and the meds dissloved into it then it would still be effective?maybe im being stupid lol i wasjust thinking of something more effective as i didnt go well this time and i had to euth the two sick fish today,i think the twice daily catching them to feed meds did more harm than good
  9. hey all, just for future reference is it possible to put antibiotic food in in gelatine so it can be effective for longer than ten seconds in water ?
  10. I cant see the pic/vid. It's not coming up sorry. i saw it and wish i didnt, it gave me the eeby jeebies
  11. thanks for asking, a little better, swimming around more every day, sores still there but they seem to be coping well with being hand fed through the syringe, i just worry about their slime coating :-/ on a lighter note, ive decided to "man up" and hold the fish myself rather than getting my dad or brother to travel over twice daily to do it for me - it was quite scary at first but i've been making myself laugh as ive noticed myself taking to the fish in a steve irwin type fashion "your'e alright mate!", "okay good boy, nearly finished now" etc aghhh the things we do for these fishies lol
  12. how exciting, great thing to make you feel better
  13. im curious to see too, would you call him silver now? is that the right colour name?

  15. Id like you all to meet my newest baby, i say baby because he is tiny about 1 inch including tail bless him sooooo cute, as the topic title suggests his name is silver pie - i have my 6yr old daughter to thank for that name lol she seems to pick the best names haha http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/null_zpsbe1b6e76.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 and here are my fancies in their new home! http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/null_zps44b8e841.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 just need to get a light sorted now, i have the fitting but no bulb

  18. over the past few days ive noticed my (mostly) white ryukin getting very fat, ill post some pics maybe she is full of eggs?, or maybe she just needs to go on a jenny craig plan lol. she's also stating to change colour i think, she has developed a small orange spot on her face that wasnt there before, and her hump is starting to grow now look so cute http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/F1DC157A-EEB8-42A3-A2B9-66601F4AF562-9286-0000053B565944F1_zps4f6fb984.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2
  19. hi, sorry i didnt have time to update yesterday, i was running around like a headless chicken all day, phew. so here goes.... ive borrowed a small landing net that my dad uses for carp fishing to catch the big guy and thats proving much easier (its no fun trying to catch an almost foot long goldie with your hands) and ive been using the syringe technique that you linked me to and having much success with that, they guys are swimming around more now, but still resting quite a bit, i did a huge water change yesterday to remove the kusuri wormer, and ill let them chill today then add wormer again tomorrow. the back spots on the big guys gills have gone but the sore still look sore, here are some pics http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/8E69A23B-3CA0-4D8D-8C1C-C97596DC7060-9286-00000532AD92119C_zps0c0c8cd5.jpg.html?sort=3&o=10 http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/E6A99AA4-F922-4BE3-9156-8432BDA6623B-9286-00000532C158DA1A_zpsec4ab68e.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5 http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/ema0140/media/2DB41C85-AFC5-4E39-BC82-8B8163D2639B-9286-0000053326ABE3E1_zpsbc78eba1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3 as you can see the fins are still very red, but their mood seems improved. i want to thank all of you guys for helping me with this, it has been very scary, i dont think i would buy a sick fish again - just wanted to try help them as i knew they wouldnt get treated in the fish shop and just probably die, lesson learned i think
