  2. Wait, so you're one of those crazy-fish-ladies? lol jk That is what caused me loss of interest the first time, is how easy and hassle free it is that made me not involve in the tank as I would like. I always like a challenge, something that keeps me moving and getting my hands into the tank all the time. And with my barebottom tank before, I don't think it gave me that. Barebottom is easy and I didn't have to clean it so often, everything is automatic that I just need to feed and change water. But now with a change in substrate and new fish, I hope to remain interest in those water piggies.
  3. I think so too! Thank you, and nice to meet you and so many new faces! It's not really that hard once you buy the right equipment. Starting a fish only saltwater tank can be as easy a goldfish tank, you can still use canister filters, low lighting, and you can even go barebottom. The only difference with fish only sw is you need live rock as your main filtration, along with a couple of powerheads to push water around and through the rocks for filtering, and the last difference is of course, you need salt. With a reef, you only need better lighting, and ditch a canister filter for more live rocks, and/or live sand (sand bed also provides filtration). You can choose to either have a sump or not, some do, some don't, I don't. You can dose stuff if you want to, but that just complicates things, and I don't. So from my experience, saltwater isn't a lot more complicated than fw or goldfish, they just require a little more/different equipments, and a lot more money! So answer your question, my reef is 29 gallons and my goldfish tank is a 72 gallon. I'll definitely do an update on both of my tanks!
  4. Sure looks like it! She has some stunning chus on her facebook page! I had such a hard time picking the perfect fish. Thank you! I think so too. I was gonna come up with a good comeback, but I've got nothing.

  6. Thank you! Me too! Can't wait to get those piggies...ahem, i mean...fish.
  7. Thanks! I'm telling myself "You're gonna give each tank equal attention", let's see how that turns out!

  12. Oh good thanks! Yes I can see your fish in your signature, wow they are beautiful. Where did you get them?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free thank you! Edie has ridiculous fins they both came from Rain Garden goldfish online. Online?? How in the world did they ship them? Just bag it, box it, and ship it! lol. I still don't know how the fish survive the trip, but they do, so there must be something in the water!
  13. Hey fellow goldfish crazy people, yup, if you're reading this, you're one of them. So, I have been away from this forum for a while, shifted my attention and money to my reef tank, and to be honest, I've kind of neglected my goldfish tanks. The other day, I was sitting looking in my room staring at both of my tanks, thinking, why can't I have 2 beautiful tanks at once? And that's what I'm trying to do now. First, to kick off and make is first change, is adding substrate to the tank, specifically sand. I've done gravel, I've done barebottom, and now I'm going with sand (Tahitian Moon Sand which will be arriving Wednesday) to try something different, and add a little something-something to the tank. Also, I'll might start adding some more plants to the tank alongside with my anubias, but that's to be determined. But the real star of my change is not mentioned yet, and I have to warn you to brace youself for what is coming, because surely, you will fall off your chairs if you're not prepared. ...ready? New chus!!! Are they adorable or what? After a long time of going through pics and vids of the chus available on East Coast Ranchus facebook page, I finally narrowed it down to a few, and ultimately picked these two. They are so adorable, and can't wait to get them on Wednesday!! That's all the updates for now, I'll be sure to post more vids and picks when the new sand and picks arrive.
  14. Hey Jamie, any update on the fishies or any more fish that need new homes?

  18. July 27, but your store may have limited stock so its best for you to come early. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  19. Yeah, it sucks. But they have the 55 with hood and canopy for $110. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Well that's the thing, they don't do that sale on the 75. I have no idea why, but when I last visited my PetSmart, the sale only applies for up to 55 gallons. The employees don't even know why except for "the sale applies for select aquariums'Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
  21. [Mods please move this to the correct location] My friends working at Petco have been telling me that the well-known dollar per gallon sale at Petco is starting on Sunday, June 30 and lasts until July 27. Tanks on sale includes 10 gallon, 20 gallon high and long, 29 gallon, 40 gallon, and 55 gallon. So if you're planning on upgrading, or just want another tank (you can't have too many tanks~~ ;-) ), this will be a great time to buy them. Also, PetSmart has been having $2 per gallon on their Top Fin tank combos, although not a great deal compared to Petco, it is worth mentioning. Have fun tank shopping!!! 22. Why not build your own stand? There is no better feeling than when you've made something and know that it costs you much less than buying one. You can search on Google for plans to build one and build it with 2x4. I would imagine it'll be easy to build since there doesn't need much support compared to larger tanks. Just my 2 cents. 23. ? I never thought of looking?at Lowes for idea's.? I just got off Lowe's website and saw it.? It's very nice and a great idea.? But I think I want two pieces and not one long light.? I didn't see any smaller ones.?But Thank you for?letting me know what you have.? I appreciate it very much.??Yeah, they only have 1 size of 4ft. Or else you could check out the clip on dome light thingies. Lol, cheep, but ugly. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
