  6. 1) Has anyone raised the temperature higher than 80F for their fancy goldfish? I read it's possible to go up to 86F, true?? Yes, I went to 86 when I had to treat my tank for ich 2) I have 1 tbsp per 5 gallon. How much more salt can they handle? I salt to 0.3% which is 1 gram per litre. For your tank that would be 510 grams. I add this 0.1% at a time every 12 hours, so it would be 170 grams every 12 hours 3) Keep temperature at 80F and 1 tbsp per 5 gallon for 14 days?I Keep the salt concentration and temp for 2 weeks after you've seen the last ich dot disappear 4) Do about a 20% water change every other day? Lots of WCs are good during the treatment 5) If I run out of aged water, adding prime is okay? Yes, make sure to add the salt to the new water you are putting back in 6) In case after 14 days and ich seems to be resistant to heat and salt, what other medications and drastic measures can I take? There are medications that you can buy to kil ich, most of them as far as I know, will also kill your cycle though 7) Increased of cyst, sitting at the bottom of the tank, fins splitting... are normal during treatment? Bottom siting and split fins I've found are normal with ich and the treatment, as they are quite stressed during it.

  8. All the fry Ive grown before have ended up really behind and stayed really small, so im trying really hard to keep up with lots of wcs and tons of feedings on these guys to get better growth
  9. And here's some of the younger fry, about 2.5 weeks old. Thinking I might have some 'chus in this lot
  10. Here's some new Photos of Lenny, he is 4 weeks old today
  11. Yea I love the transparent stage!
  12. And here are some of the younger fry, they are 11 days old. They are in a half filled 5g, I just added a small sponge filter today. 100% wc every 2 days (though I'm moving that up to every day now) and feed 4-5 times a day. Mostly frozen baby brine shrimp but also give them the other food as well
  13. So here are some new pictures of Lenny, the older fry. He is 3 weeks old today. I hope he is looking ok for his age. He is still in the critter keeper but hoping to upgrade him tomorrow. Been doing WCs 2-3 times a day and feeding 4-5 times a day, he gets frozen BBS, Decapsulated Brine Shrimp, Daphnia, and Hikari First Bites as well as Hornwort to forage on.
  14. Aw that makes me feel tired just thinking about it! I counted again today and got 22, so have lost a few but still pretty good.
  15. Some new pictures of Lenny and also some of the newer fry
  16. Counted the newest lot of babies today, they have just started free swimming so I moved them from their critter keeper into a small tank, only partially filled for now. There are 28
  17. Here is the last remaining of the older group of fry today, I decided to name him Lenny. I think he is about 2 weeks old now? Maybe a bit less, I forgot to keep track of what date he hatched lol.
  18. Well I had an accident today with the fry I have their little containers on top of my bedroom tank, I moved them to do waterchange on the bedroom tank and as I was moving them back I bumped my hand on the tank and one of the fry sloshed out the container. It took me a good 5 minutes to find him, he was still breathing when I found him but they are still way too small to pick up and I couldn't get hold of him without hurting him and he died. He was caught on the edge of the tank stand I tried sloshing water on him hoping he would slide off into my hand but that didn't work. I feel absolutely terrible! In brighter news, my other lot of eggs started hatching today, I see three fry so far.
  19. Hi, welcome to kokos goldfish changing colour is quite common, especially with greys and blacks Ive found
  20. You're welcome! Feel free to ask any questions you may have
  21. Hi, I have had Moors and Comets together with no problems, but I feed sinking pellets and spread them around the tank so they all get time to look for them. But that said, we recommend 20g per fish, so I'd stick to the two comets in the 40g and move the Moor into a different tank if you can, even large storage totes make great makeshift tanks And Welcome to Kokos!
  22. The hornwort is great for catching eggs! Goes absolutely crazy in my pond, i took a whole 5g bucket worth out a few months ago and it barely made a dent in it! I love using it in fry tanks though, they graze on it and gives them something to hide in
