UV-C is Dangerous At this wavelength (253.7nm) germicidal lamps are dangerous to humans or any other forms of life it may come in contact with. The lamp should always be shielded and should never be viewable to the naked eye. If exposed to germicidal wavelengths humans will notice a sunburn on their skin and some may begin the initial stages of skin cancer. If a persons eyes are exposed to UVC lamps the individual will notice a severely painful inflammation of the cornea which may lead to temporary or permanent vision loss or impairment. These lamps emit ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION (UVC). Avoid exposure. Ultraviolet radiation is harmful to the skin and the eyes and can cause serious skin burns and eye injury either from direct or reflected radiation. To reduce the risk of personal injury, install only in a fixture which provides adequate protection to area occupants. This lamp SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ILLUMINATION PURPOSES. Taken from a web site

So I just read through the reviews, and the sucky thing is it has a Euro plug, and doesn't come with the carbon etc? So there's an extra outlay. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/euro-to-uk-adapter-p19306.htm?referer=PLA&utm_source=google%2Bproducts&utm_medium=comparison&utm_campaign=google%2Bproducts&gclid=CLX--Yzzkb4CFckJwwodJFQAYg £2.52 and filter media can be got for less than your LFS. These are who I use http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Finest-Filters/Eheim-Compatible-Media-/_i.html?_fsub=1974305012&_sid=1021392132&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 -

Import duty is added to the price plus you need an 240v to 120v step down unit.. if you really wanted an Aquaclear you can find them if you look for hours and hours as I did for my AC110 but they are very rare. Better just to get a canister -

HI just to point out that you will not get AquaClear, Marineland or Aqueon Hang on the back (HOB) filters in the UK. A Canister filter would be the way forward when you can afford it -
