  1. Sounds good! I am a little concerned now; my ryukin is starting to bottom sit and act like she did yesterday . He seemed ok this morning, but now he's laying around, dorsal flat and not really breathing too well.
  2. I tried the food, but he ignored me lol. He just went and stuck to the wall I used a container to trap him, but he managed to swim out a few times first After a few tries I managed to get him in the container, with your methood. Darn tiny fish lol! Thanks for the suggestions!!
  3. Rofl yup! Fish food sounds good! But yes, I did a week of Prazi, but I had added the fish during the treatment and they've been fine I doubt it! From what I've seen in pictures you keep your tank really clean!
  4. So Dexy is doing really well today! I gave her a dose of MM's last night and some this morning. When I checked on her this morning, she was no longer laying on the ground. She was still kinda floating there, but she had put some distance between her and the ground. She happily accepted more food MMs, and since eating again appears to have more energy! Her scales still look a little raised so I'm preparing the QT tank now!
  5. Ok, really stupid question, but I'll get to it in a sec. I have a bristlenose Pleco from Acro that has been in my QT tank for about a month. He's been checked out thoroughly in that month. Well as of now, I have a sick moor and I need my QT tank for her. The problem: I can't catch the little pleco to move him! He's only about the size of my thumbnail, about an inch or so. I hate the idea of using a net (Not sure if that would work anyway ) but he swims away from my hand and every container I try! Any advice??
  6. Oh yeah! At first I wasn't sure if it was dust or something pilling up at the bottom, but then I started noticing those things appearing in droves! It was nasty lol! I just scraped up what I could and vacuumed as much as I could with my siphon. Between that and the Prazi, they weren't so much of an issue. I haven't seen anymore since I added the fish thankfully
  7. I just tried the water company for a GH/KH reading, and their closed until tuesday . I'll get it first thing though! Sorry, I have such a hard time reading some of these tests... They all look the same color to me . So do you think the 90% water changes are ok to do? Ugh, I know! It's really frustrating!
  8. I had a ton of those when I first started my fishless cycling! They're really gross! did a few water changes and started a prazi treatment and they all died off (as far as I could tell). Good luck with the nasties!
  9. Thank you so much Black! She's my oldest (problem!) child. She's my big baby Sounds good! She ate the MM's. I let them soak in fish water until soft, and she was able to get them down with some chewing!
  10. Ok, I have the MM's soaking now. Should I start the Prazi too or wait until tomorrow? I did a 50% water change about an hour and a half ago
  11. Ok! So she responded to food. She perked up for a few seconds when I gave her the first piece of spinach. She chewed for a second mid tank, then floated back down to the bottom. The second little piece she stuck her head up, but didn't move around too much. She looked like she was having some issues chewing, but didn't spit it out. The only reason why I saw issues is because when she's well she is a super fast eater. Tonight she looked like it was taking some effort to chew..
  12. Sure thing! Thank you! Ok, so leave her be until tomorrow? Should I feed her the nightly spinach or repashy? The appetite was ok this morning. She would get up for a piece, then lay down and chew
  13. So it looks like dexy is trying to pinecone around he tail base a little. I just felt her tummy when I moved her out of the plant she was stuck in (tried to get up, then stopped and sank) and its hard. I didn't feel much give. She's looks to be hardly breathing too... What should I do?
  14. Alright, I'll let you know as soon as I hear something! I'm sorry, I know it's hard to tell without the KH&GH tests
  15. I just opened a thread on the D&D section about my sick moor, but the other two seem alight for the most part. Klaus will speed up and hit the water surface every once in awhile, but Idk if that could be considered 'jumping.' Other than Dexy, the other two are alright. Am I ok to do big water changes? Fins crossed that the test kit will be here soon! In the mean time, I'll call them tomorrow. I'd do it now, but they're probably closed
  16. Ok so I just tested the ph's again: Tap: 7.4 Tank: about 8.2 I have a bit of trouble reading these sometimes, so I'll post a pic: I (like an idiot) don't have a GH & KH test kit. I just ordered one from Tasty Worms tonight. I know its probably not much help, but I live out in the middle of the desert... I don't use a buffer since I haven't had issues until recently I have two bubble stones that run the length of the bottom of the tank. I also have an EHIEM filter that turns a lot of water at the surface. My tank size is 55 gallons
  17. So my PH out of the tap and my aquarium has been 7.5 since forever... But lately for some reason the PH in my aquarium has been 8.2 while the tap has been normal. Nothing substantial has changed other then a temperature change for summer (71 to 77 lately. New Mexico gets HOT), and a few plants in Laterite substrate. Am I doing something wrong? Is my water too basic for my poor fishies?? My moor is sick right now, so I'm hoping this PH issue doesn't have anything to do with it Thanks guys!
  18. The video finally uploaded! Ugh it took too long..
  19. April 6 was the most recent final treatment of Prazi. Do you think the PH is alright for them? Sorry my 2 minute video is going to take an hour and a half to upload through YouTube This is the mangrove box And this is Dexy now

Bottom sitting, not as active as usual. She has been dropsied in the past So once again I am having issues with my problem child dexy. She has been laying around the tank, and hardly breathing. I haven't changed anything with how I take care of the tank recently. She perks up a bit when I offer food, and will also eat a bit, but then goes right back to the bottom of the tank. She was 'headstanding' behind the air hose yesterday until I righted her. She seemed to do a little better after the 50% water change yesterday. The other two fish seem to be doing great on the other hand. There have been a few issues/changes lately however: The temp here in New Mexico has been rising lately keeping the tank at about 75- 78F The ph has gone from 7.5 from the tap and tank originally to 8.2 I added two mangroves from Acro and a corkscrew val (which was soaked in PP before addition) My tank is a barebottom but I do have plants rooted in glass votives with laterite as a substrate. The mangroves are also planted in laterite. I'll get some pictures and a video posted ASAP Thanks everyone!
  21. I have one now! I got him from our man Acro here . They are super cute, but soooooo messy lol! I've never seen something that small poop so much! If your not overstocked, why not? Just be ready to be on poop duty lol!
  22. Oh wow I want them all! I love the pudgy faced lionheads! Your first fish is really pretty too... Its very possible that you got a hybrid. Either way, she's stunning!
  23. Is it possible that you could try to make your own gel food? Koko's has a bunch of recipes! http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php?/forum/12-goldfish-food/
