  2. I was browsing the local lfs when I stumbled across this little fellow. He had the most charming look and seemed extremely healthy and well... I had to take him home! I try not to get fish just because I have the space. My rule is if I think I can leave the shop without it I will. I do this because I really do not want to get overstocked (I still have lots of room but I know that if I get every cute fish I see I would probably fill it up within a week!). I found that I couldn't leave without him! If he is a boy his name will be William and if he is a girl it will be Willow. He is what I like to call a short tailed willow, (a single tailed telescope). Now for the pics http://i1353.photobu...zpsc790382b.jpg http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q665/Frenzy99/Will/DSCN2394_zps1289d41e.jpg The next photo is blurry, but it really shows is personality http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q665/Frenzy99/Will/DSCN2405_zps51fb7d73.jpg http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q665/Frenzy99/Will/DSCN2416_zps20a9c7e4.jpg And this last one really shows Will's eyes and tail. http://i1353.photobucket.com/albums/q665/Frenzy99/Will/DSCN2413_zps683ea690.jpg
  3. Yes, I meant tap water. Also 8 was a typo, I meant 7, sorry. I checked over and that was the only typo. Thank you so much for your advice Alex! I managed to get my PH to 6.5 and will keep a much closer eye on it in the future.
  4. I did a 50% water change and when I retested the water it still had a PH of 5. I also tested the new water (with water conditioner in it) before I put it in and it had a PH of 7
  5. @Orandatchi: Thank you @Smegy Psiren: I hope so too @Bodoba: I retested the PH and it is still 5.
  6. Thanks for responding. I will restest the PH as soon as possible. It was like something was pulling her head up towards the top of the tank at first and she struggled, and towards the end she went belly for a bit. She is doing really well now though, as if nothing happened.
  7. Cool! Can't wait to see them in your tank
  8. I was doing a water change and when I poured the water back in Fern started to flip over. I stopped pouring and then she kept flipping over There were bubles streaming from her mouth and gills. It continued for a long time, well over a minute. I wasn't pouring hard by the way. She stopped now and is okay apart from the occasional bottom sitting. Also Fern has a history of bottom sitting. She does it occasionally but Numis never does. I think she is a little prone to it. Here are the tank results. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level (tank): Just over 0.25 * Nitrite Level (tank)Less than 0.3mg/l * Nitrate level (Tank)Test Kit doesn’t test that * Ammonia Level (Tap):0 * Nitrite Level (Tap)Less than 0.3mg/l * Nitrate level (Tap) Test Kit doesn’t test that * Ph Level, (Tank) (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 5 * Ph Level, (Tap) (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? Tetra Test Laborett * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Filters built into the hood of the tank. I don’t know what type they are * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Stess Coat Water conditioner * Water temperature? 18 degrees Celsius * How often do you change the water and how much? Most weeks 3 to two times week. About 25% * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Today I did a 50% * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 4 months and it is 25g * How many fish in the tank and their size? 2 5 inch goldfish * What do you feed your fish and how often? 6 days a week, two times a day, a pinch or two of pellet food. * Any new fish added to the tank? No * Any medications added to the tank? No * List previous issues experienced (dropsy, SBD, etc.)Fern tends to bottom sit. I don’t think she has SBD, she just reacts to things more than other fish. Eg. When I moved them from quarantine to this tank 4 months ago she was bottom sitting regularly for the rest of the week. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Fern scraped her side on something a week ago and there was a wound, but it went away. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Fern tends to bottom sit. I don’t think she has SBD, she just reacts to things more than other fish. Eg. When I moved them from quarantine to this tank 4 months ago she was bottom sitting regularly for the rest of the week. * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. I have added a tiny amount of salt twice since I begun the tank. * You can really help us to identify with the concern more accurately if you post some pictures and a short video. She has stopped the behaviour and I cannot see any external problems right now.
  9. These feeders were $0.29 each. uwu The girl said they were so big no one was buying them to feed to anything. She said their last shipment was even BIGGER for some reason. Whoa! There must have been a shipping mistake or something.
  10. This is really interesting! I can't wait to see how this turns out. By the way, if it works, will you change his name? Will he be Mr Abled?
