  1. I thought that was a gorgeous fish, Aubrey! :D I hope you have a supremely boring qt.
  2. I'm always sooo jealous of the rocks you are able to find. Seems any time you post a tank that has rocks, I have the same reaction! I can find smallish rocks and huge ones, but never anything I really like in the mid range. Tiki, you can head to any landscaping place that sells mud, limestone, rocks or gravel. They'll have rocks of all different shapes or sizes, and they'll charge you by the pound. I'm happy to share my favorite rock buying places with you. Yes Please! See what I did there? Lol! PM me and we'll get rockin' and rollin'. Pun definitely intended.
  3. Look at all these beautiful tanks!!!!! I'm always sooo jealous of the rocks you are able to find. Seems any time you post a tank that has rocks, I have the same reaction! 4. Your tank looks beautiful, Dan.
  5. Charlie and Googles (and buns)! Can you take the broken tube around to hardware stores and find something else that will fit onto your nitrate filter properly? There are no parts circulating around on ebay?
  6. I have bags full. Come get. If you look in Walmart, they have there.
  7. Call around and see if someone has it. If someone down by us does, we'll drive to get it for you.
  8. My tank did not have the brace, Lisa. There are those with the brace that have successfully removed and replaced it, but I would not be brave enough to do it. That's a lot of water on the floor, if something isn't quite right. All that being said, I was very happy with the results from my faux sand painted tank. There's a very in-depth post on here somewhere, if you would like to check it out.
  9. I did have a piece of driftwood that did that for quite a while. Eventually, I left it alone and it went away.
  10. First, I make a stock solution, which lasts me for a very long time. Once I have my stock solution, I measure out 1 mL of that for every 10 gallons of water that my plant sterilizing container holds. I let the plants sit in there overnight (because I forget about them) and they're fine. 4 hours should be good though. Don't forget to use water that has been dechlorinated without the use of Prime. I don't have this issue, as I'm on a well, but if you do, just set up your container with an airstone overnight. Notes for PP Baths Stock solution is: 2 grams of PP powder 25 grams distilled water Use naturally chlorine free water; Prime will deactivate PP 1mL of stock solution per 10 gallons of water makes 2ppm bath Unofficial advice: I'm not as precise as I used to be. I just throw some of my stock solution into water until it's a true purple while still being able to see through the container. I haven't lost a plant yet.
  11. Should be fine! Just make sure you get the ratio for PP/water right.
  12. Thank you, Shell! The crinkly plant took Jenna and I a very long time to find! Now, we're trying to find something for the other side of the tank, as the water sprite isn't looking so great. Mr. Data is from Star Trek. My family is all Trekkie.
  13. Thank you so much, everyone!!!!!!!!!! :D
  14. Love me some crinkly! I actually purchased the aponogeton because it looks a lot like the balansae, but grows a fair bit faster. My monster fish can't eat it as fast as it grows! I hadn't known about that kind of plant! Very handsome. I don't know how big your fish are, although they look... very big... but my littler ones don't bother the crypt since the leaves are very sturdy. By little I mean that my biggest fish is 48-9 grams. My fish are all between 200-300 grams each. :rofl3 Thank you so much! I loooooove the way that my tank looks, but I'm definitely needing a bit more space. Poor fish are super cramped up. Thanks, Angie!

  16. Thank you, girl! The water sprite isn't doing so great. I may replace it with another crinkly-type thing. What do you think?I think you need a type of crinium! [emoji38]2And water sprite is a lost cause in my tank. Even if planted in dirt, stem plants just don't work. a crinum is exactly what I had in mind! Keep your eyes peeled for something good.
