  2. New pic, I just noticed he's getting spots on his wen and has one on his dorsal fin... All the others look fine for now...
  3. He has more or less the same amount of spots, maybe a couple more and only on his tail... Nothing on the others yet... It looks like white fluffy (they stand out) dots...
  4. Ok... What should I do? Daily w/c? Since they're on prazi they've been getting w/c every 4th day...
  5. I do have quickcure in my cabinet... I'd hate to kill my cycle though but anything to keep the healthy
  6. Thanks everyone! She's a sweet goldy alright... Still very shy, won't eat until I'm gone . Anyways she's doing great other than that - does bottom for long periods of time though... She does swim around when I turn her light on or I walk by. Right now I'm freaking out because of something else... Goldy who's in my maintank has ich... The bad part is that my main tank is salted to 0.3%!must be that super ich So frustrated right noe! He has like 10-12 white small fluffy spots on his tail. Tried to take pics but he didn't want to cooperate much... None of my other fish are affected so far. Goldy's tail on the left Please help... Should I start a new thread for this???
  7. Hi Alex! Nice to hear from you again All is good, did have a couple of mishaps like the sudden death of Einstein my redcap a couple of weeks back - think that's why my hubby called the lfs and ordered me this big baby... I said I had the tank at 1%, I meant 0.1% lol Also, I wanted to ask you about her pom pom, she just keeps on chewing on it.. Anything I can do? Any ideas on getting her to eat? As always, Thanks so much for all your help!

Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. PraziPro and salt 1% Hi everyone, I've been away for what seems way to long Been busy at home, work and with new projects (aka discus fish lol).... Anyways I'm writing today on D&D because my husband tried to cheer me up the other and got me a surprise fish... I almost had a heart attack when I came in after work yesterday and saw a beautiful huge oranda in my main tank... NO QT whatsoever, he just wanted to surprise me (he never listens to me when I'm going on about my fish nor the importance of QT). She'd been in my tank for 8 hours with the others and upon close examination she had some small white spots which he swears were not on her when he bought her, so assuming he's correct they appeared after being introduced in my healthy main tank. Spots on her wen may be wen growth? And the ones on her tail might be that her tail got sucked on the filter (Goldy used to get them all the time) - but I'm very nervous and anxious... She also has bloody streaks on her fins (maybe high ammonia from shipping? petshop told my hubby she'd just gotten in form US night before) and is a bit shy. I immediately set up my hospital tank and added salt to 1% and PraziPro because she looked to be yawning a lot... I tried feeding her last night and she wouldn't eat, tried all day today and nothing... Tried NLS pellets, Repashi soilent green, progold, krill, bloodworms, flakes EVERYTHING I had and to no avail, she just doesn't feel like eating apparently. I noticed she has a big wen and has a growth on her nostrils that resembles that of the pom-pons to some extent, it tends to get into her mouth and she constantly chews on it. Should I/ Can I trim it? I was thinking of adding salt to 3% and continue monitoring her and see if more ich like lesions develop. Also I'm scared that something might be in my main tank now... I did 2 back to back 80% wc after taking the big girl out but I'm freaked my babies might've caught something. Should I do anything to my main tank? Any suggestions? I really appreciate all of your help, I'm kind of desperate here... Here are some pics and a video of my huge sick baby...
  9. Thanks everyone! Sorry dnalex and stakos - he'll fit right in with my other finned babies once QT's over But I would be willing to accept your ranchu as an Aussie tankmate for my calico... You've no idea how hard it was to get a LFS interested into getting good size and unusual fancy goldfish! I actually did this by joining a local Aquarist club and met a few other goldfish lovers here who were having the same problems finding nice fish around - specially ranchus. So we got together and convinced a couple of LFS to order some, I got the first pick though lol They sold out on the big ones in one week and will order some more soon... I have my Fingers crossed for a sakura ranchu!!! And maybe a 100gal tank so I can get a couple more lol If my husband doesn't kick me out of the house first that is
  10. Hi everyone! I've been so busy lately (house renovations, mainly roofing problems) I've hardly been online lately... But I just wanted to share the little girl I got at my LFS today!!! She's a Calico Ranchu - my biggest goldie, measuring about 3.5" long. Her name's Nemo because one of her pectoral fins is small, birth defect I guess... Still she's so cute! Look at those chubby cheeks! This was on our way home... This is his little pec fin... And his normal pec fin What do you think of the new baby? Thanks for looking!
  11. Sorry to hear you're having problems I read those reviews on the emperor and about the problem self-priming and that is why I chose the penguin. I have 2 penguin 350's (on my 60gal) and 2 150's (on my 20gal), all of them are basically silent. The only time I hear them make noise is when I move the airstone and some bubbles go into the filter (stops when the bubbles are moved away) or right after a water change when the sand that's free floating apparently get inside and makes a bit of noise - it usually clears in about an hour after finishing the w/c and they go back to being silent... I'm actually very happy with them so far...
  12. Oops forgot to add a pic of his little tankmate my zorro nerite
  13. Hi everyone! Just wanted to show the "new look" of my 20 gallon tank that's Goldy's, my floaty goldfish's home. Decided to go barebottom because he had a hard time finding the sinking pellets in the gravel, and it's just a lot easier to clean! Here's how it used to look: The decorations were too big for Goldy to swim comfortably, he would get little scratches - so when he got sick (went through one month of mm) and started bottom sitting I removed them all. I actually trained him to be hand-fed because I needed to know he'd eaten all of his daily MM dose. Here it is now: Goldy has recovered nicely and even though he's a bit floaty at times, he's very active and lovable! I decided to add 2 anubias after having some success with them in my 60gallon tank and to add a bit of color I added some river stones... He seems to like it, and so do I Thanks for looking!
  14. Send me a PM if you also want some JumpStart, I have a lot and would love to share some...
  15. I also have jump start and can send some to you if you want... It's a food with probiotics that you'll want to feed your fish after an antibiotics course. It helps them recover faster, meds are tough on them...
  16. Thanks so much Alex! I thought it was that kind of chase but it got kind of rough and fast at times that it worried me a bit. I tried netting him and it only served to stun him for a few seconds and he'd get back at it as soon as he saw them again... I turned off the tank lights and things calmed down, the girls are hiding one in each corner and Clarence is roaming around the the tank freely lol I'll let them be chased for now, if it's spawning I don't mind, I know it's natural... Will keep an eye out for any injuries on the girls though...
  17. Cool I'll check it out tomorrow, we arry some centrum probiotics at Walgreen's I'm a bit cocerned now wih Clarence's behavior... He seems to be aggressively chasing (he has breeding stars) ponyo and einstein (eggy goldies) ... Ponyo's tail seem to have split a bit probably by crashing against the filters swimming away from him Should I remove him? Will it stop? Should I do something at all?? Here's 2 videos: http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g263/krystalpr/B889A00E-72C9-48DB-9D4D-69864CA08198-29138-000016B597E3B79F.mp4 http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g263/krystalpr/E6EA3611-4F8E-4998-896E-038FE9978FF4-29138-000016BAB802E70D.mp4
  18. Yay! My first QT experience wasn't as bad as I originally thought it'd be... lol I'll just give everyone in my 60g a few jumpstart pellets in the morning and a bit of repashy at night for the next 2 weeks - I'll be sure to watch out for the floatiness though.... Like the thought of adding some probiotics to my repashy... how do I do that? Where could I get probiotics safe for fish? edit: typo
  19. Ok, so 14 days later Clarence just finished his MM treatment and is looking great! He will still go and chug air, but I've noticed he now only does it a couple of times after being fed, and for short periods of time. He has been through 4 rounds of Prazipr & salt and 1 week at 0.3% salt. I think the little guy is ready to move in to my main tank tonight....! Can I feed everyone in my 60g JumpStart? I'd like to give Clarence some, but it'll be hard to keep the rest from eating it... Don't think it'll do them any harm, or am I wrong? Thanks, as usual!
  20. And they're GONE.... Will be sending them to Mrs. Sharkbait3
  21. Sounds interesting... I've yet to see these in Aquariums around here... What sort of room do they need, tank wise?
  22. I love my Whisper air pumps... I've had them for about 2 months and I can't hear them at all... I have 3 Whisper 40's and one Whisper 60 - for the price, you can't go wrong!
  23. Hi everyone! So I bought like 2 months ago 2 jars of NLS sinking pellets: one is advertised as goldfish food 3mm and the other as cichlid 1mm pellets. I opened and used part of both of them, but only about 1/10th is gone, so they're almost full! Since I got these I switched over to progold and repashy and feel that they will go to waste. If anyone wants them I'll be happy to send them and just have you pay for shipping, otherwise these are going to to the trash Let me know!
