  1. I can relate to how you're feeling. After several years of goldfish, my two big orandas died a few months apart. I decided to take a break from goldfish and took down my tank. Now I have no fish pets at all. While I miss the fish that I had, I don't miss the fishkeeping and I am enjoying the break. I decided to keep the aquariums in storage in case I want to get more fish in the future. Take your time and you may feel the love for goldfish in the future after you've had some time to mourn your loss.
  2. I had 2 fancies in a 29 and they were fine for about 1.5 years, but they grew quite large (6-8 inches) by then and needed to be moved to a 40 gallon breeder.
  3. Oh WOW. Those fish are awesome! Please post some pics of your entire pond. I would love to see it!
  4. Diatoms (aquarium brown algae) are very common in newly set-up aquariums and can persist for some time. I had a chronic problem with diatoms because my water has high levels of silicates. I was able to resolve the problem by using a poly-filter pad and pre-filtering the water before adding it to my aquarium. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=10421&cmpid=11csegpl&ref=6111&subref=AA&CAWELAID=525409262&catargetid=1570176690&cagpspn=pla I'm not sure if these are available where you live, but perhaps look for something similar if they aren't.
  5. I love it! I used to live on a farm and had a very large pond (not as large as the one in your photos). I always wish I would have done something like this. Strangely, we did end up with about 10 very large koi in the pond, although none of us put them in there. I am guessing someone snuck in there at some point and "rehomed" their own goldfish
  6. I have it and liked it a lot. I took my airstone out because one of my fish was afraid of it lol
  7. Sadly, she did not make it. RIP beautiful Biscuit. Thank you for all of your help
  8. I try to limit the amount of vegetables that are higher in sugar, like peas and carrots.
