  1. It should live! c: Just make sure the rubberbands are not too tight, as it will make the plant melt.
  2. I was going to offer water hyacinth, but I see someone beat me to it! I have some very small little water lettuce plants I could send if you are interested.
  3. Una? You folks know how to make a guy jealous. Makes me jealous, too! xD
  4. It's gooorgeous. xD I wish he would keep it, but I bet he will lose it. so I'm just enjoying it while it lasts.
  5. So one of my pond goldfish is the comet I rescued fromt he turtle tank at petco. He was the typical brown/bronze when I put him int he pond, but now he has turned... green? He shines irridescent green in the sunlight, now. It's really strange! I've never had a goldfish do this before. It's even brighter in person.
  6. thay're just cattappa leaves. They are very beneficial to bettas. What concerns me most is housing males and females together... it's neat tank but I don't like people taking risks like that with their pets, personally.
  7. Wow! He is a really lovely grizzle crowntail, what a lucky find! c: also excellent name.
  8. Excellent! Post pictures when you have the bowl set up! c:
  9. You really shouldn't house a male and female together! They may seem to get along but being exposed to the male the female will produce eggs, and the female will harass her into breeding. Breeding is rough and dangerous and she shouldn't be put through that. Especially as often as she could be forced to breed by the male. In the end it will be very stressful, fins will be ripped and it could drive the female to her death. Please set up that bowl you mentioned and make it very lovely and put him or her in it.
  10. Lucky mistake for me, and them! The lady told me they were coming in too big to be fed to anything, so everyone was buying them for pond fish. C:
  11. I got a few more pictures! uwu I also named them. this is the one true calico of the group, who my friend named Marmalade. Here is Pepper. Apricot. and some pictures of the two little extras. uwu One of the tiny comets ended up dying overnight the first day, sadly. But the other two have done well! Here is Gumbo. Who looks like he has a beard right now. and Pistachio. I also wanted to tack on a couple of pictures of Pecan, because he lost all his black! xD Befoe, with the others: now I can hardly tell him from Mango.
  12. Hmm. Egg shells have the nasty habit of getting black and icking up the water. I use cuttlebones for my snails.
  13. I got some nicer photos. uwu It's hard to get pictures with shaky hands.
  14. The people at my local petco are very understanding. xD It was the same girl that stood there to pick out my feeders last time. She knew the minute I was looking at them what I was up to. And I am not sure! I told them they should net out the big ones and sell them for normal goldfish price.
  15. These feeders were $0.29 each. uwu The girl said they were so big no one was buying them to feed to anything. She said their last shipment was even BIGGER for some reason.
  16. So when I went to petco and saw that their feeder tank was full of long bodied double tailed goldies I couldn't help but snag a couple. I came away with two calicos and a red and black with some white. Currently they haven't been named. I tend to wait a few days and make sure they are doing okay before I give names. A couple of lovely little comets tagged along with them, and I decided that was okay since I will be getting a stock tank soon anyways. they are currently in a fifty gallon pond so I can dose them with prazi and keep a close eye on them.
  17. First let me introduce the betta. This is Cesar. He's a doubletail. He has a little kink right before his tail and is very sassy. Now his home. It's a 2.5 gallon bowl. With a small group of red ramshorns.
  18. Woah, java fern is expensive there! Go you gettign babies. c: My java fern just will not prosper for me unfortunately.

    Dahlia

She is gorgeous! But I just wanted to warn you to STOP the melafix! Melafix(and conversely, 'bettafix') is known to damage the labyrinth organ that they, obviously, use to breathe. I doubt it has done any damage to her, but melafix should never be administered to bettas or any air breathing fish. Just as a heads up! c:
  20. If you can't keep her you know me and inverts since you've seen my tumblr! I would be happy to take her off your hands. she is just so precious. but really, I hope that you can keep her. She has such a grea thome with you and I would hat to see you have to give her up. :c
  21. I ended up stocking my 50 gallon bow with cories, platies, applesnails and a pleco. I have a soft spot for tetras, though. and I will ALWAYS suggest corydoras for a bottom dweller. They are amazingly interesting, constantly scooting around and interacting. As far as tetras go I'd suggest neons or rummy noses. Danios would be cool, too!
  22. So a couple months ago I got a 6.6 gallon petco bookshelf tank. It was a betta tank, and then turned into a betta and shrimp tank. I usually call it the shrimp tank, even if Salvatore still rules it. xD I wanted to post some pictures of it, and its inhabitants. I was super happy to get a couple of oddly shaped marimo balls for only a dollar each! I have some water sprite, pygmy chain swords, micro swords, anubias, hygros and java moss all over my driftwood. When I redo it it's going to have crypts lutea as the majority plant. right now it's just chock full of baby shrimp. Theya re really prolifically breeding for me! so I am waiting for them to get larger and then I drew out plans to revamp the tank to something better to show them off: I have the exact piece of driftwood I drew. So I'm pretty happy. Before too long I will probably be giving shrimp away here!
  23. I've been debating using acrylics on my tank, as well! I might just do that, now. Especially if I end up with indoor goldfish again.
  24. They will eat them, oh yes. I tried putting ome in my goldfish tank once, bad idea if you want any at all! they will immediately eradicate them. Just make sure you know where it cam from and maybe keep it quarantined for a little while. And that the goldfish are too big to even possibly choke, though their shells are actually quite soft. c:
  25. That is a regular little pond snail. uwu i very much love them but they are PROLIFIC and can overrun a tank if you aren't careful!
