  2. what am i suppose to be looking or feeling for on his belly, it feels firm, smooth and slimy his gills look normal. no spots or anything, um his poop looks like clear tubes with brown waste. except on like earlier today there there was a long gap and gaps between the brown waste unlike the continues brown on my ryukin this behavior started yesturday midday i think he seems to shake out of it quickely and act normal most of the time but still not as lively as id like to see him
  3. actually the filter is newish i suppose, i got it about 2 months ago, but the tank has been housing them for 5 months as a matter of fact he looks as happy as ever now i guess he was just sleepy, i dropped some pellets in there and his old self is back. ill post video if the behavior starts up again though thank you all

  5. like on the top where the twin tails are connected. i see a lot of younger fishes tails split and my fish's tail is starting to. just wondering if theres anyway to prevent it from doing that
  6. i just kinda like it when both tail are still intact and idk where to put this topic in so i chose here
  7. okay so my gravel is kinda on the thinker side and im using Saki Hikari sinking pellets. my local fish store recomended it to me when i got my ranchu. the gravel seems to be kinda making it harder to eat the gravel cause of all the space. am i okay or should i get new gravel?
  8. Thank you the water i put in the tank is all from the 5 gallon and then the rest is ALL distilted water. nap tap. from the rite aid. im not trying to cut corners nor am i too lazy to run to my local pet store to get a test kit. its just a matter of money. i garentee you the next thing i will buy is an api test kit these fish are beautiful. a 5 gallon was not big enough for even a single fish. so i got that first. i am taking this hobby seriously, im doing my best Oh so do i just snap off the pieces of plastic? on the hood? Thanks again
