  2. Well i was going to do a post about leaving my fish, so ill just hijack this one .. am going away for 2 nights, will be doing a water change before i go. So i was going to ask if they would be ok for them 2 days without food or buy one of them weekend sticks, only thing about the sticks is that iv seen mixed reviews about them. thanks
  3. Ok ill look into it ..... but Just want to say thanks to all of you anyway that have helped and gave me advice etc, ill make sure ill keep doing it all from now on ...
  4. I didnt say that the FX5 all ready had the foam filter blocks in aswell... So i should just remove the chemi pure and then the filter will only have the bio media and the foam blocks in... Think i should get these to go in then ?? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fluval-FX5-Fine-Polishing-Pad/dp/B001602BUK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1399563729&sr=8-2&keywords=fx5 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hagen-A248-Fluval-Filter-Pad%252c/dp/B000HHO764/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1399563957&sr=8-5&keywords=fx5
  5. 6.8 on using the low PH test.....and 6.0 using the high one... havnt used any baking soda yet, but iv bought some. I guess ill have to add a bit to get it up
  6. just got normal play sand in that i got from work. which has been all treated etc before i put it in.. Been in about 2 years now... as for the filter in my fx5, x2 layers have got the chemi pure elite and the last compartment is full of fluval bio media. I got that prime today (8/5/14) aswell that you recommended so ill use that when i do the next water change:)

  11. Hi yes ill get the new PH with the higher one for you and with a pic of the fish aswell, they just act normal i dont see any behavior when i do the water change. As for the water conditioner i dont have any in, i just thought that ment what media am using, ops lol.. Here is a pic using higher PH one on the left is tank one on right is tap, hold both up to the card the tank one fits more into 6.0 and the tap fits best into 7.4 And the fish today you can see the glaze over its eye, i couldnt get a better pic of the nose part but it has went down alot, its still there but not as big, iv circled it to make it stand out abit better
  12. right i got the kit today and the new results are below the nitrates am going with is 20 as when i hold it up into the light its orange and it does look red when you dont..but it might be 40!!! Iv put in x2 pics anyway one of my tank and one of the tap...... ps i havnt done a water change yet am doing that tomorrow so this has been in the tank for about 3 weeks since last water change. This pic is tank water This pic is tap water Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) 20 * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 6.5 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.5
