  1. Its alright. I just wish there was something I could do. I hate sitting here watching her suffer.
  2. http://s1270.photobucket.com/albums/jj603/elliolds/?action=view&current=100_1094.mp4 Okay, here is the video. Sorry it is pretty dark.
  3. Okay, I am just waiting for the video of her to upload now. Her eyes are no longer puffy or cloudy, but she is having serious difficulty swimming and she just sits on the bottom on her side most of the time . I am using a buffer, I can't remember what it is called though... I can go and check if you want me to. The ph of my tap water is 6.5
  4. Just checked on the sick fish and she is not doing well at all. She is having problems staying upright in the water and is swimming in a swirling fashion sometimes ending up upside down. When she is resting she ends up sinking to the bottom of the tank and tipping over onto one side or the other. I fed her one MG pellet and she seemed like she was eating it but then spit it out again. I don't know that getting the MG in her orally is feasible right now. I think that I might need to treat the water with some sort of medication instead. Any thoughts? Please help this is not looking good for her.
  5. Main Tank (the parameters for the QT are listed above) * Ammonia Level - 0 * Nitrite Level - 0 * Nitrate level - 15 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) - 7, 40, 25 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? - Tetra easystrips * Water temperature? - 70 degrees Fahrenheit * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? - 55 gallon. About 1 year * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? One is a penguin 200, the other I am unsure of the brand but it is a power filter as well and says "regent" on the side * How often do you change the water and how much? once every 2 weeks. 30-50% * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? - 1 day. 30% * How many fish in the tank and their size? 3 common goldies (appx 6 in, 5 in, and 4.5 in) 1 lionhead (appx 3.5 in) one black moor (appx 4 in) and one shubunkin (appx 6 in) * What kind of water additives or conditioners? I only use Aquasafe plus by Tetra when I do water changes. * What do you feed your fish and how often? home made gel food (green pea baby food, tuna fish, probiotics, water, and gelatin or agar) * Any new fish added to the tank? no * Any medications added to the tank? no * List previous issues experienced (dropsy, SBD, etc.) this fish has had previous issues with popeye * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. This fish was treated for popeye about 3 or 4 times in a QT with Medi-Gold for abou 10-14 days each time * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Yesterday I noticed a few pieces of what looked like ich on her dorsal fin but they seem to be gone now. As mentioned above, her eyes are puffy and looking a bit cloudy. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? She has not wanted to eat and has been swimming slightly tilted to one side. She seems to stay mostly at the surface of the water tilted at an angle with her head up I will try to post some pictures and/or videos of her later today.
  6. Alright I moved it over to a D and D. Here's the link http://www.kokosgoldfish.invisionzone.com/forum/index.php?/topic/102446-common-goldie-with-puffy-cloudy-eyes/page__fromsearch__1
  7. I forgot to post the water parameters of the QT. They are: pH - 7 KH - 40 GH - 25 Nitrite - 0 Nitrate - 10.
  8. I have a common goldie who is not doing too well lately.. She has had the recurring bouts with popeye. She seemed to be doing much better and hadn't had any trouble for quite a while but a few days ago her eyes started looking a little puffy again. I kept an eye on her but they didn't seem to be getting any worse and she seemed to be acting all right. However, today I went to feed them and i noticed that she was not doing well. Her eyes were a bit more puffy and all cloudy (which is new) and she was swimming slightly tilted to the side. I've moved her to my hospital tank and have tried to get her to eat some MG, but she is refusing. She is obviously feeling pretty crummy because she let me hold her and hand feed her some pellets (something she never has allowed me to do before). Shortly after I put the pellets in her mouth though, she promptly spit them back out. Ugh. I tried just dropping some pieces of MG in beside her to try and get her attention but when I came back a while later she still hadn't touched them. She seems to just stay near the surface of the water tilted at a slight angle with her head upwards. I'm not sure what to do or if I am using the right treatment. Please help!
  9. The fish with the bloating issues is all better now because I have been feeding home made gel food . However I am still having problems with the fish mentioned in the post above with the cloudy eyes. Do you have any suggestions or ideas for her?
  10. I'm back again! So far all the fishies are doing well except my common goldie.. She is the one who has had the recurring bouts with popeye. 11. The parameters are all looking good. I did the water changes and added some fresh carbon and the tank is crystal clear again. Yay!
  12. Nope I'm all done with the medicated food. I'll check the parameters and do the water changes and get back to you. Thanks!
  13. Okay, the fish with popeye is doing alot better!! It actually is completely gone now and she seems to be doing fine! However, a few days ago I noticed that my tank is getting very cloudy.. I'm not sure what happened. What should I do?
  14. Alright so I will be filling the hollow ornaments with the sand/silicon mixture described in the link, and I'll take out the carbon and just use the plain filter sponges. Also, what depth of gravel do you suggest? I hope these things will help!
  15. Sure, I can take the hollow objects out. Just wondering though, why should I do this? As far as the answers to some of your other questions, I change the carbon in the filters usually once every month to two months. The gravel is about 3 inches deep and I vacuum it every time I do a water change (once every 1-2 weeks). I don't always lift up the decorations and vacuum underneath them, usually I do that every 3 water changes or so. I don't have any driftwood in the tank, and I now do 30-50% water changes instead of 25%. Hope this information helps and thank you for everything so far!
