  1. Ok, thank you Helen. I will up my WC's
  2. It was red before, that blood thing for like a month. I figured fresh water and a lol melafix would clear it up. Then the next day (two days ago) it doubled in size and is all red. Would salt help relieve the edema?
  3. It's still terrible. I dont want to touch her, she is a squirmer. And i dont want to hurt the eye by accident or stress her out further. I posted a concern about her eye being cloudy before. Maybe this is related somehow. The water Params of tap are all zero, same ph.
  4. There is a lava rock in the center with a live plant attached to it. The rock is about 13 cm in diameter. There are some plants in there too growing in the sand. I will post pic tomorrow. It is very late.
  5. Did a large water change so the water Params may not be what was goin on in the tank before. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) 0 * Ammonia Level(Tap) not done * Nitrite Level(Tap) not done * Nitrate level(Tap) not done * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.6 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) not done Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? API * Water temperature? 74 * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 56 gal. 3 years * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Eheim 3e Pro. I forget the numbers after, it is the bigger one * How often do you change the water and how much? At least once per week and >50% * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Today, same as above * How many fish in the tank and their size? 3 fancies. 1 moore, 1 oranda, 1 ryukin. 1 rubber lip pleco * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Hikari lion head, once per day * Any new fish added to the tank? No * Any medications added to the tank? Melafix * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. Did salt tx about...6 months ago I think. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Red sore on bottom of fish from bottom sitting. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Bottom sitting.
  6. I believe i have a very bad case of pop eye in my moore. Here eye is completely red with a pustule of red at the bottom. It is also about 50% larger than the other eye. Doing water change now....help
  7. Me neither! I kept checking daily at raingarden to make sure he hadn't sold her. Cant wait to see what colors she turns.
  8. It's been quite a long time since I've posted any videos. Both of my original Orandas died and so Koko and Lucy are no longer with us I didn't give up and got 3 new fancies and a rubber lip pleco. No real major problems yet (knock on wood). By the way, this filter rocks!! I kinda wish I had the smaller one to compare it to because this one might be a bit too much current. Anyways, here's the video. Please excuse the audio and video quality, it was taken with my iPad. Also, need a vote. Moore's name: Flower (like the skunk from Bambi) or Chloey.
  9. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) <5.0 ppm * Ammonia Level(Tap) (Not done) * Nitrite Level(Tap) (Not done) * Nitrate level(Tap) (Not done) * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) Ph: 7.6 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) (Not done) Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? API * Water temperature? Thermometer met algae magnet. So, I'm goin off of the temp setting of heater in aquarium. About 74 degrees. * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 56g. About 3 years * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Eheim huge...um Eheim 3e 2078 * How often do you change the water and how much? Lately, once a week between 50 and 60 percent. * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? 50% Tuesday. And 100% a week before that. * How many fish in the tank and their size? 3 fancies- Ryukin, Oranda, and moore between 6-7 inches I believe. And a small rubber lip pleco * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime. Sometimes use seachem flourish * What do you feed your fish and how often? Fed twice a day. In the morning pellets (hikari lionhead pellets) and in the evening repashi soilent green (soon to be replaced by super green). * Any new fish added to the tank? The moore and the ryukin are the "newest" addition to the tank. About 5 months ago-ish. So, no not really. * Any medications added to the tank? Presently, after the water change there is approx 1/2 tsp/gallon of salt in the aquarium from the prior 1 tsp/gallon tx. * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. Salt, 3 rounds of Prazi, used melafix for the moore a few months ago-her eye seemed a bit red. All tx's lasted about 1 week. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Just white spots that pop up here and there. Sometimes the oranda gets them on his wen but I assume that's just wen growth. Occasionally, I will see the white spots on the moore. And it's hard to tell on the ryukin because of her color. The moore has a cloudy eye and was lethargic prior to the salt treatment. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc. The moore and the oranda sometimes bottom sit at night. Steve from Raingarden said that a strong filter like I have might cause them to bottom sit so that they can rest. I don't know if that's true. They come up to eat though.
  10. Hmm. Here's the link again, the above isn't working for some reason. It's hard to photograph.
  11. Here is the link. The eye is her right. The spec is her left top dorsal fin -http://youtu.be/I85oEZzM2U8-
  12. Hi everyone. Not near the aquarium right now so i will post Params later. So, for a few weeks she was bottom sitting. I wasn't sure if it was because of the current in the tank as she would still eat. Then I was watching her and I noticed 1 or 2 specs of "salt" on her. And at least one of her eyes were slightly cloudy. We did a 100% water change that day because we needed to move the 56g aquarium. (3 fancies in it btw). I added 1tsp/gal of salt to the aquarium and she has been a lot more active. I still see the 1 to two specs and her eye is still a lil cloudy but better than before. So...now what? Meds i have are melafix, medigold, metro meds, salt, and this ich cure all stuff which only seems practical for smaller tanks Tank is 56 gallons. 3 fancies: 1 oranda, a ryukin, moore and a small rubber lip Pleco. Tank has been goin for about 3 years. Did a 50% water change today after allowing the salt to work for 1 week. My dslr crashed on me so if ya'll want pics it will be iPhone quality. The one or two specs will be hard to photograph i think. Thanks!
  13. Should I wait to see if it gets better or give her something for it? I don't recall her having a red eye before but i could be wrong. It's possible that she scratched it on a rock. I have melafix and medigold on hand. Water Paramus were good when I last checked a few days ago. I just did water change so a measurement at this time would not be accurate. Thanks. 14. Wow, amazing. How many are there? I want a 300 gallon tub in my living room!!
  15. Hi everyone! Been awhile, back at the hobby again. I expect to get some "you have too many fish" but I tried the rules last time and they both died so, well...here goes. I still have the red Oranda that I got to replace the Red Lucy. We named him Vincent after Van Gogh. We have the rubber lip pleco which I swear hasn't grown at all - I seriously wonder how he survives because he's always hiding. The other two additions are a Yellow Ryukin, and a gorgeous black moore with white tips in her tail from Rain Garden. (Still need names, you guys are welcome to help!) The huge eheim filter is doing nicely. I had to point the spray bar toward the glass because the fish were bottom sitting to conserve energy. Since I did that, I was able to up the filtration per hour and wallah, no more bottom sitting! Things to do yet, I still need to Prazi them. I'm waiting for the tank's bacteria to catch up to the bio-load. No spike as of yet and everyone looks healthy. I also ordered some Rapashi Super green and they love it! I'm really hoping the black moore shows some gorgeous color changes kinda like Tithra's did with this food. So, as of now there are 1 rubber lip pleco, and 3 fancies in my 56g aquarium and a huge eye sore of a canister filter that my girl friend absolutely loves in her living room (sarcasm). lol That's it. I'll work on posting some photos. I should be doing Chemistry right now Hope everyone is well! Can't believe I've been on this forum for almost 2 years. A special thank you and shout out to Koko, the mods, and the subscribers for keeping this service going. You guys rock!
  16. She's now stuck upside down at the top, she'll right herself up for a bit then go back to upside down . Can anything else be done? E.g., epsom salt? If so, what's the dosage?
  17. Thanks Alex, youtube capture worked. Here's the video, her wen looks like there are swollen cysts almost. They're slightly pink. In other places, it looks like there are holes in the wen. This video was taken just after the Maracyn was added. Her floating got worse almost immediately. I'm still waiting in medi gold and metro meds. 18. I am unable to post a video until I find my memory card. YouTube doesn't like my apple products it would seem. Here are more pictures. Should I get maracyn then? My guess is it is secondary infection caused from higher exposure to ammonia and is likely bacterial. Things to note in pictures, small indentation with a white spot on kokos head(the blue) as seen from the front. You can see it to the top right of her face. as well as a white spot superior to posterior of her right eye. The fins appear to be thin on edges with a black line approximately 1 inch in (most notably in her tail. She is floaty, stationary now at the top but appears to be able to stay upright. She is inactive and shows very little interest in food. I did see her sift through sand last night so I attempted to feed but I didn't see her take any. The red has a white spot on or below his wen also. He appears to "groom" kokos head from time to time by mouthing her head and stays close to her. This doesn't appear to be aggressive. And alas the photo didn't turn out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Part of her wen changed to an angry looking pink color and she has some dark spots on her fins. I've ordered new metromeds/medigold from goldfish connection. I will get a video asap and post it. This is my own fault for not making sure the filter was cycled first - I thought that seeding the filter would be enough. I was wrong. I was concerned that running two filters would cause too much current. Lesson learned I've been doing about 70% water changes every two-three days. I've just been so busy with school and work - I will take the video tomorrow and finish up my chemistry lab report.
  20. She's still lethargic, a bit floaty and I decided to fast her for a few days and then try again with peas. I think she got burned from the ammonia that day what so you think?
