  1. Ok. Sounds like a plan. I am also going to get some more Nutrafin Cycle soon because I think it really helped to keep things ok last time and its cheap.
  2. Will do. Still holding off on water change right? I'll test the water again tomorrow night.
  3. Thanks! Tonight's tank parameters: Temp: 79F pH: 7.4 Ammonia: 0.5ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 10 ppm Should I add some Prime tonight to get rid of the ammonia? I just re-read your post above and I think that is what you meant. Oops! I will wait till I hear to add it. I think we still have tomorrow left before doing a water change according to the schedule if that info helps. In other news, we got a digital thermometer--those are incredible! So much easier than guessing the colors in a gradient.
  4. Ok. I'll post parameters tomorrow afternoon/evening and we can go from there. I'm probably worrying for nothing. Just want these guys to have a long happy disease-free life.
  5. Ok. I'll keep trying to get a better shot. If it was ich there would be more than one white dot right? I've heard it described as grains of salt....there isn't anything on the black one, so hoping its just a coloration thing. The Prazi doesn't seem to be affecting them...they are eating and active.
  6. Going to see if this works...I have a snapfish account instead of photobucket. I'll make one if I need to, but hoping this will load. Nope. This should work. If not let me know. http://images1.snapf...377475335nu0mrj
  7. Tank parameters today: Temp: 77.7 F pH: 7.4 Ammonia: 0.3 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 10 ppm I think the ammonia is holding off enough, but I will check again tomorrow afternoon. Worried about the little guys the whole time I was at work. The orange fish has a tiny white dot on one side that appears to me to be slightly raised up. Not sure what it is. We are trying really hard to get a video but the fish won't hold still. As soon as I get one I will post it though so you can see what you think. I hope its nothing bad.
  8. Here is a slightly better video. Prazi and salt are in. They seem to be doing ok so far. We are thinking about maybe Inky and Clyde, Mac and Cheese (not sure how I feel about the cheese part-lol), or Tessla and something....any thoughts?
  9. Also, because I find them adorable...
  10. Ok. We will add the first dose of Prazi and salt to 0.1%. We also have a tiny bit of Nutrafin Cycle left too if that would help anything. The temp is around 79F...is that ok? We keep trying to get it colder but our tap is still hot. Should we double dose the Prime tonight? I will test tomorrow afternoon before I go to work if possible and if not, tomorrow evening and report. Thanks!
  11. Their tank and quarantine tank (which is already cycled) is a 10 gallon. I know we will have to upgrade soon...but we need space and permission. Lol. Tank Info: * Ammonia Level--0.5 ppm * Nitrite Level--0 ppm * Nitrate level--0 ppm * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.4 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) It has a GH of about 150 ppm(soft-hard range) and a KH of around 80 ppm. * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? API Master Test Kit (drops) * Water temperature? * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running?-- 10 Gallon tank running since November 2011. * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Filter is for a 30 gallon aquarium I think (Says AquaClear 50 on top of it if that helps) * How often do you change the water and how much? We do a 50% water change at least once a week, usually twice. * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? Tonight, 80% * How many fish in the tank and their size? Two goldfish (both around 1 inch or slightly less in size) * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Use Seachem Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Nothing yet, going to feed them something tonight. * Any new fish added to the tank? Yes, 2 yesterday * Any medications added to the tank? Prazi and salt will be added to the tank tonight * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. The fish haven't been treated for anything yet (they're new). Starting the Prazi tonight with salt at 0.1%. The fish that died recently was also treated with Prazi and salt and Marycn 2 once about 6 months ago. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Nothing so far. * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Nope. I am a little worried about the ammonia. I haven't had that in the tank since we got it cycled. Is this just due to the fact that we added two fish yesterday? Not sure if this is normal or not. Should we still add the Prazi tonight or wait until the ammonia gets more under control?
  12. Those colors are beautiful! I couldn't say no to a fish like that either...I have this feeling I am going to have more than one tank soon...lol. Congrats!
  13. Hi. I promise I will post water parameters tonight and nothing is wrong with my fish at the moment. I think we picked two relatively healthy fish from the petstore last night. One is an orange fantail (we think) and the other is a black moor. Still deciding on names. I would love some advice on quarantine and advice for brand new little fish so that they get a healthy start. I am planning on starting Prazi and salt to 0.1% this evening with an 80% water change (it was changed 100% yesterday). My tank is cycled too. I also haven't had a fish that can eat normally for about 6 months, so I am wondering what would be best to feed them. I have peas I can cook and deshell, goldfish flakes, pellets, frozen green food (spinach, spirulina, bloodworms--can get the rest of the ingredients tonight, they are in cubes), fry food and green wafers that stick to the side of the tank for them to nibble. We didn't feed them anything last night when we brought them home because we didn't want to add to their stress level. Any advice would be appreciated. Here is a video of them...I'll try to post a better one later. Thanks! *Holly and Josh*
  14. I will start quarantine tonight after work. We definitely need suggestions for names...can't decide. Let me know what you think. I'll try to post a new/clearer video of them soon.
  15. Thanks. I'll start one this evening so I can put tank parameters up too.
  16. Thank you! Can I have some tips on what I should do with them? I didn't know if I should start a new thread in Diagnosis or just ask here. Should I prazi/salt them at all? Want to make sure we do everything right this time.
  17. If it helps at all, I was able to purchase an API Master Test Kit at PetSmart for around $30. It has been worth its weight in gold! I highly suggest it...makes cycling and treating sick fish so much easier. Hope your fish get better soon!
  18. Thanks everyone! I am ok if their color changes I think...the moor already has some light on his/her belly. Any chance any of you know whether they are boys/girls? My guess is they are a bit small to tell, but it would help with naming. I love "derpiness"...its amazing how each fish has their own personality already! Its the perfect word to describe it.
  19. Hi. Sorry to hear your fish is acting funny. The nitrates may be an issue but the ammonia may be a bigger problem. Hopefully someone will be by soon to help you figure out what to do to fix the water. Good luck!
  20. Thanks! I am very excited. I still miss Pucca but these two have already captured my heart. <3 I hope they get along well. The lady at PetSmart seemed to think they would but I don't always know if they are right. The gold one looks like she was dipped in ink or something. Still deciding on names. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  21. Hi. I just bought two brand new goldfish tonight and I want to make sure I know what kind they are. The black one is a Black Moor, but the golden colored one was in a tank with orandas. I think it is a fantail. I will try to upload a better video soon, but I was excited. Any help identifying would be appreciated!
  22. I took pictures of the water "burial"...I'll post them if I figure out how. It was a sad moment. We went to "look" at fish tonight and I fell in love with two of them. This is a problem because they came home with me...I'll post a video as soon as I can. The tank was cleaned out thankfully. We're letting the bags sit in the tank water to acclimatize now. I know that my 10 gallon is no where NEAR large enough for two of them. We will do frequent water changes and as soon as possible upgrade to at least a 30 gallon tank. I need to build a stand. I am hoping that since they are so small (less than 1 inch each), they'll be ok for a little bit. Should we Prazi them since they are new? Also, should we add salt to 0.1%? I figured maybe I should let them get used to their new home for a night or two, but I definitely don't want anything bad getting to them.
  23. Thanks. I will let you know how the fish shopping goes this evening and we'll give the tank and filter a good rinse and get some ammonia just in case. Still can't believe she is gone. I keep expecting her to start swimming again. I think she was miserable though, so I think it was for the best.
  24. I am sorry to report that Pucca passed away last night. She stopped moving around 1am and we figured it was the end, but waited until morning to make sure. I will miss that fish. She was a fighter. Now she can report to her fish friend Garu that died the first week how crazy living in our apartment was. I have a couple of questions. We are going to give her a water burial in a lake nearby today as soon as I'm off work as I can't bring myself to flush her. Do we need to get a new fish right away to keep the cycle going? I really can't imagine life now without a fish in it and I do want another one. We are going to look tonight, but I want to make sure we find a healthy one and our selection is limited. Also, how should we clean the tank out? There is Prazi and salt in it now, so I know we need to give a good cleaning, but I also don't want to lose the cycle in case we get another fish or two. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for helping us keep her alive for so long. We couldn't have done it without you all!
  25. Double dose the Prazi? Or the salt? Sorry...just don't want to do it wrong.
