  1. My order of MetroMeds should arrive either today or tomorrow. I would like to give them to another fish owner trying to save their goldy.. I wonder how I can do that? I can send it to a mod here? Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  2. I am sorry to report that the poor guys have passed away. I was doing w/c on both tanks and sat down for a minute to rest (cuz w/c on the 29g is such a hassel) and that turned into a nap. The canopys on both the 29g and the 10g QT were open and the poor fishies jumped out and when I woke up they were passed away. :( :( I feel so awful. I am going to go back to tropical aquariums cuz I just plain have no luck with goldfish. :( Thanks guys for being so helpful. I don't know what possessed me to not just close the lids before I sat down, especially since I know they loved to come to the surface and "beg" for food when I was around. I just really hope they didn't suffer for too long. :( Caramel had started to look REAL good too.. all his scales were back flat and his fins were unclamped. What beautiful fish Caramel and Frenchy were. RIP
  3. Scales have receeded even further. Now only the hind 1/3 are slightly raised. Seems to be doing even better. =) Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  4. QT procedures began. Am happy to report that the scales are a lot flatter than they were yesterday. Will post an updated topview pic tomorrow after work. They are still a touch raised, but doing a LOT more better after the reduction in salt. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  5. Will do. They are eating ravenously as of now. It's actually kind of weird, because for the past couple of days the dropsied oranda has been bottom sitting...and now all of the sudden his activity has increased markedly and is swimming normally. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  6. Yes, the tank has been at 80F since starting the salting procedure. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  7. Just placed my order for MetroMeds and Jump Start. Heading off to the store in a bit to get the epsom salt for the water change. Is there any chance of recovery for my poor fella? And no, no kitchen scale unfortunately.
  8. No MetroMeds, and no bloating. Yes, pineconing is on both sides. Will try to get a better pic later Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  9. Just thought I would add.. been at 0.3% salt for about 3 1/2 days now. And that should read 10* nitrates so 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 10 nitrates
  10. Hopefully this gives an idea. Params are 0,0,0 pH 7.2. Going to do a 80% w/c here in the next couple hours. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  11. I have rigged up a little home made sling and will try to get some top views on my cell Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  12. Sorry, been real busy. Trying to trouble shoot my camera. It seems like the battery is kaput. The patches have gone away, as have all of the visible ich spots. However, there is a new symptom.. slight pineconing from the top view, as well as a couple of missing scales. I really just don't know what happened.. I've been real up on all my maintenance. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  13. Am now at 0.3%. My digital camera battery is charging so I will post pictures of the spots asap. Planning on a 80% w/c tomorrow after work. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  14. I've just dosed to 0.2% a couple of hours ago.. should I do it anyway? Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  15. I will post a picture as soon as I am able. Params were 0, 0, 5 with a pH of 7.2 as of 3am. Will retest tonight when I get the photo of the patches. It seems to be consistant with a fungal infection from what I read online. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  16. Now at 0.2% salt. Chocolate oranda seems to be developing a secondary infection, as there is a cloudy patch on the caudal fin, anal fin, and over the eye. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  17. Ok I forgot to report that I found some test solution from another kit and my pH is 7.2. Is that satisfactory? Fish seem to be handling 0.1% well. More bottom sitting from the heavily infected oranda. The other one keeps poking his belly as if to say "let's go!" and occasionally they will swim off together. Offered the usual food of pellets & algae yesterday, both ate eagerly, thinking about fasting them 'til we are up to 0.3% and the WC. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  18. No, I've not treated for flukes recently. Its been a few months. The ich is definitely "thriving" in the heated water. I thought you move up in percentages every 24 hrs. I swear my mind accidentally read that. Oops! So now I'm straight about upping it every 12 hours. I hope this isn't a stupid question, but after I do 80% w/c, how much salt will I need to put in to make it .2%? I will up it tomorrow when I get home from work so that I may observe them. And now I guess I will address the flukes by buying some PraziPro on Friday when I'm paid. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  19. Update: ran a master test kit reading (liquid drops from API). Ammonia: 0, NO2: 0ppm, NO3: 5ppm. Tank at 80F, 0.1% salt. Will perform 80% water change tomorrow before I increase salt to .2%. Oranda seems eager to eat, but bottom sits every once in a while. First time bottom sitting has been observed. Also observed some flashing. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  20. I will have to start salting tomorrow as I have a ton of stuff to do today and won't be able to monitor the tank. Today though the tank is at 80F and I've increased aeration. Am home now, and everyone looks happy/healthy so far besides the obvious. Only one oranda is showing the ich spots, so far the orange one is no worse for the wear. I am not sure I will be able to do 80% every day, but 80% every other day is definitely do-able. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  21. D'oh. I knew that. I groom at a local pet store and the tanks are on sale here too so I'm going to get one Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  22. I'm going to purchase a QT tank today and use the already cycled water from the main tank if that's the case. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  23. If its in the main tank, he's gonna have it too yes? Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  24. I have started the process of raising the temp to 80F. I will start the salting process this evening, raising it to 0.1%. Goldfish continue to act normal, no bottom sitting etc. I can't remove the pleco because I need to treat the main tank, unfortunately. Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
  25. I don't know why this was sent to a new thread. *sigh* I am on mobile so I can't see what I'm doing. I'm sorry! Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk 2
