  1. So I finally got the 55 gallon up and running this weekend. Had to get it from our storage container, clean it, mask off the top sides with newspaper and painters tape, Spray paint it, then disassemble the 29 and do the transfer and add another canister filter. So now I have two canister filters up and running ... I am really happy about how much swim room they have and how much extra water and filtration. It looks pretty bare at the moment so if any one has suggestions as to a theme I should go with or decor feel free to give me some input :0) Here is a video of it so far. Still need to create some kind of curtain or something for the stand so I can hide the canisters.
  2. ok thanks dnalex. Currently spray painting the 55 gallon so the water quality should be really good with just having the two in there.
  3. ok, well what about the red discoloration in the eye? Hopefully its all normal.
  4. Ok, sorry for the delayed response. I had some problems accessing the site which Koko helped me with Ok here we go. Before.... After.... And a video taken today.
  5. I'm currently at work but, when I get home I will post pics. So two things have gone on with Sir Isaac's eyes. One is that one eye has started to become substantially larger... I think? Or there may have been an injury to the other eye where is " deflated" somewhat... So at the moment one eye is much bigger than the other. The other situation is that the eye which is larger has developed some red "blood" around the pupil. Looks like an injury so I treated it with a 3 percent salt solution over three days. He is back in the main tank now but nothing seemed to change. I know its hard without a visual until I get home but, does any one have any thoughts? My tank is pretty bare and there is not much to Bump into except some river rocks that are smooth and the intake pipe for the filters. It's bare bottom.
  6. detritus worms... they are in almost any tank feeding off of decaying food and plant matter. Dont worry about it... if anything just clean out filters, gravel and tank walls and do a WC they will always be there. If they come back in numbers, try cutting down how much you are feeding.
  7. Sunsun canister filter!! I have one currently on my 29 gallon and I'm soon setting up my 55 gallon. I bought another! For the price I really don't think you can beat it. I absolutely love it and have no complaints. Very easy to set up and clean. Tons of media room and filter pads. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you! Hopefully you can get one soon I was pretty surprised that I only had to pay $4.99 for him too. I've been wanting to order online for some time now but, when I saw him all alone in his tank I couldn't resist Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. It's not a jar, though. It comes as powder and you have reconstitute it. Strongly suggest after you add the boiling water put it on cookie sheet and let cool or put in fridge for like 10-20min then cut into bite size cubes. Then put the cookie sheet with already cut cubes in freezer til frozen. Then you have easy access to it an just plop it in tank when you want. You can also thaw a days worth in fridge if you want. I know this sound like a lot of work, but it's really not and you'll be glad to have the bite size bits available on a whim. Oh yeah! Hold your breath when you make it! Haha, yeah it does sound like a bit of work but I'm sure it's not that bad Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I'm guessing it smells fantastic!! LolSent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Yeah I hope so too! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Which Repashy product would you recommend? I've never tried it before.
  17. Thank you everyone Yeah I can't believe how tiny he is. I've actually never had a goldfish this small, only a little over an inch long. I will weigh him tomorrow when I change his water. Really hope all goes well for his qt. Just need to hunt down some praziquantel. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Tonight I was out having dinner with my girlfriend and I happened to be in the same plaza that I got my last gold fish ( Sir Isaac, the white butterfly tail demekin). I just wanted to check out what they had available. Seriously with not one intention of actually getting anything. LIKE ALWAYS lol... Welp, one 10 gallon tank for qt was picked up and I ended falling in love with this little guy! I need to order or find some prazi pro though. I ran out! [/url]
  19. Wow. Beautiful Ranchu! I Admire your grooming. I don't want to redirect this thread but, Your default pic, are there more pics of that Ranchu? Is it yours?
  20. Aquatop and sunsun are the same... You can find the sunsun on eBay or Amazon much cheaper though. I only paid 90 for mine. I probably wouldn't bother with any other brand at this point considering how much I spent and the great quality of the product.
  21. So I had a mishap. I was cleaning my AC110 and I lifted it with all the media inside. Unfortunately it was too heavy for the case and the way I was holding it with one hand didn't help. I ended up cracking it almost in half and now I am unable to use it. Thank goodness I purchased a canister filter and had that running. This was about a week ago. Apparently even after transferring the rest of the media from my AC110 to the canister the tank still didn't have enough Beneficial Bacteria to take care of all the Ammonia and Nitrite so i had a bit of a spike. I noticed the redness in the fins start to get worse so I did an emergency water change and cleaned out the filters really well. I also decided to go bare bottom and painted the bottom of the tank. I think the Tahitian Moon Sand was trapping too much debris and I had lots of detritus worms. Towards the end of the video you can see better. After the removal of TMS and painted bare bottom and background. These are my Notes from my goldfish tank Log that I keep every time I do something the tank. *November 10th 80% Water Change 3 teaspoons baking soda Nitrate 80ppm All other Parameter fine. Weight = 88 grams Gaining weight really fast still. Maybe too fast? *November 11th Broke my AC110 filter while trying to get impeller to work again. *November 16th Cleaned out Canister Filter. Did over 100% water change. Added 3 Teaspoons Baking Soda Removed all the Tahitian Moon Sand because there were too many worms. Painted bottom and background black. Weight = 91 grams Ph= 7.6 Ammonia= 0.25 Nitrite = 1.0 Nitrate = 20 Bad Parameters= I think because I broke my AC110. Not as much filtration and B.B. Salted tank to 0.1% because of slight bottom sitting.
  22. I LOVE my SUNSUN canister filter. Super cheap and works wonderfully. Extremely pleased with the quality and performance. I will probably be purchasing another one.
