  1. I do have kanaplex available. I am going to go get a 10 gallon tank today so I can treat both of them a little easier.
  2. It was probably about two days after I put prazi in. What antibiotic should I get? Why would this happen? Is it something I exposed them to? Since they are suppose to be QT'ed and healthy from the place I purchased.
  3. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) - 0.25 * Nitrite Level(Tank)- 0 * Nitrate level(Tank)-0 * Ammonia Level(Tap) -0.5-1.0 * Nitrite Level(Tap)-0 * Nitrate level(Tap)-0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.2 and 7.4 * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 7.6 and 8.0 Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? api master drops * Water temperature? room, need to get another thermometer. * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 55 gallon. about a week about a week ago * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? tetra whisper only for water movement. not cycled. * How often do you change the water and how much? have yet to do my first water change with the fish in. * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change?Water was put into tank about 5-6 days ago. * How many fish in the tank and their size? 2 - small. * What kind of water additives or conditioners? prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? hikari lion head. just a little bit since they are new and were just shipped. * Any new fish added to the tank? this is my qt * Any medications added to the tank? prazipro * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? no * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? bottom sitting. fish is still eating. every once in awhile i will see him swim about. the other fish looks and acts normal. I have seen poop so they are digesting. I kept the lights off for the first day to help acclimate. I do see that I will need to get some baking soda to help buffer the water. Maybe that is what triggered the bottom sitting? Fish will respond when I tap on the glass. bottom sitting started after i put in the prazi. once again, i have yet to put in any salt. I will be going to the store to pick some more up tomorrow.
  4. So my unnamed butterfly #2 is bottom sitting. I have had them about 3 days now and I will be doing a water change tonight ending the first prazi treatment. Prazi is the only thing I have added to the tank, no salt. Let me know your thoughts. The tank is uncycled and should have almost no ammonia being that they are super small and they are in a 55 for only three days. I did add another dose of prime just incase. I will test the water parameters when I get home from work. Here is a video. Let me know your thoughts.
  5. Thanks everyone Very much looking forward to watching them go into the main tank and grow
  6. Yay! they arrived late yesterday. in the 55 gallon for qt. Then being moved into the 75 to accompany Isaac
  7. Thank you! I debated awhile about the sand. I originally loved the whole black theme and wanted to go with black sand. I do love how it gives the tank a more natural feel. Its also really nice because Isaac is much more active and entertained with foraging around the bottom and sifting through the sand which is really fun to watch The only draw back I have yet to see is that my water clarity isn't where I would like it to be. Seems like no matter how much I rinsed the sand and how many WC's I do it still gets slightly cloudy in contrast to my bare bottom 55 gallon QT tank. I did purchase some 100 micron filter pads that I will be putting them in my canisters this weekend. Could possibly help with some of the floating sand or debris that causes the slight cloudiness?
  8. A slightly better video. Really need to learn to take better videos and pics! make sure its on 720p for best quality
  9. Thanks again every one . I just bought a new SD card since I couldn't find my old one. ( amazing how cheap they are now)... I'll try to upload a slightly better quality video tonight
  10. Thank you! His Name is Isaac. Total length is almost 7 inches. Nose to tip of tail.
  11. Thank you all .. I am also waiting on two butterfly friends that should arrive friday. Going to be doing the QT in the 55. Looking forward to getting him some one to play with
  12. I'm currently working on getting good circulation with my spray bars so please excuse the bare spot haha. Tank still needs some more fixing up but, it will always be a work in progress Just a quick video. Can't find my cameras SD card so only an iphone video sorry.
  13. Hopefully moving in my butterfly telescope this week
  14. I wanted to go ahead and update everyone on the tank! I got pretty busy with it this weekend and got it pretty much ready. Lots of trial and error.I'm no carpenter but, I am pretty pleased with how it came out. Door piece Paint! Let me know what you think!
  15. Once I have it all set up, poor Isaac will be all alone in a 75!! oh how I will get in trouble searching for the perfect tank mate...mates? haha
  16. Well I scooped it up for $100.00!... Looking forward to this next project. I'll keep you guys posted with the alterations of the tank stand. Everything looks great and has a nice looking bead of silicone throughout the tank. Very happy about my first 75 gallon!
  17. So I've been having this itch to upgrade for some reason... I can't help it! lol I want a 75 gallon... The price looks right and I'm going to look at it today at 5pm it will need to be painted black and will need front doors. What do you guys think? http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/for/4492071415.html
  18. I have two of the sun suns hooked up to my 55 bare bottom with one butterfly. I went ahead and positioned the spray bar so that the outflow is faced towards the glass to minimize the current. The other spray bar I have positioned at a downward angle. I haven't had a problem with a " poo corner" haha.. Just work on twisting the outflow pieces in a way that will work. Each spray bar has like 3 or 4 independent pieces In which you can twist them to make the current work for you PS, My spray bars are submerged.
