  1. I'm not exactly sure, but I think it is something around 25-30 gallons. Media is sponge and carbon, but the tank is bottomless. Hopefully I'll find the test kit soon! I'm currently unpacking my stuff.
  2. Ah okay, I didn't know that. Well, I have two small filters (one being the 10 gallon one) running since I haven't been able to buy a proper one yet, plus I'm doing a 5gal water change daily. I didn't use any of the old water (apart from when I acclimated him in a little baggy) since it was really filthy. I noticed his ammonia burns seem to be fading a little but he's still acting pretty skittish.
  3. I've just moved back so all my stuff is a mess and can't find my testing kit anywhere...params should be okay though. I just set up the tank two days ago, and yesterday I removed the waste from the bottom and did about 5 gal. water change, gonna do the same today. The tank should already be cycled because I brought over the filter that was in the 10 gal he was in before.
  4. I've noticed that since I've gotten back, Lucien has been really skittish and swimming around kinda jerky like. If he sees me, he'll swim to the other side of the tank like he's avoiding me-doesn't matter which side I go to, he'll quickly swim in the opposite direction. He seems to startle easily too. I'm pretty sure that he was less 'afraid' before I left, usually he'd approach me...especially if I was feeding him lol. But I'm not sure if it's due to the fact that he'd just recently moved to a big tank after being kept in a dirty 10 gallon for a few months? Is he still adjusting? Or am I just being paranoid?
  5. Hmmm, curiousity got the better of me and I had to go over and smell my bottle of Prime, because I'd never noticed a smell before. Mine wasn't bad. It sort of smells like AmQuel mixed with an...inky...kinda smell. But it wasn't strong at all. Amquel is some strong stuff though! But I actually kinda like the smell.
  6. Well see, I had a 5 gallon tank with some wisteria, something that I think was Creeping Jenny, and some Java Fern and used an LED light. The only one that was fine was the Java fern. It's even started to produce another small plant. (Btw, I love The Last Unicorn! It's one of my favourite movies )
  7. All of your tanks are stunning! You have a real talent for aquascaping. \ I wish that one day I can make great tanks like this too.
  8. Hmmm, okay, I'll try to bring it up. Since it was for a small tank the clip didn't fit the side, but hopefully the suction cup will support it. :s
  9. Ugggh, I shouldn't have read this while eating dinner... Anyway, I hear that leaving a bottle of vinegar out is a good way to deter gnats...if you can tolerate the smell. seal the cap, but poke little holes in it...I think if you place it close to your tank, they'll be attracted to the smell of the vinegar and go in there instead, but they can't get out.
  10. Look at those fins! Love her!
  11. So many great tanks! I LOVE that second one!
  12. Wow. very pretty! I love the way you set up the bubble wands.
