  1. I recently added some new plants to my tank. After planting them I originally noticed a few snails on the sides. Now they are multiplying at a fast rate. They are about the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. I have an approximately 12 gallon tank full of guppies. Is it alright for me to have these snails and so many of them? Or what do I need to do to get them out! Thanks for all your advice!
  2. Koko, Awesome! Thanks! I'll keep you informed on what the levels are! Duggan
  3. I will check my test strips when I get home from work! I bought the test kit you recommended, it is nice! It is easy for me to use! All the other levels checked out in the normal range! I'm keeping a journal of it all! How often should I test? THanks, Duggan
  4. When you say stability matters, do you mean keeping it the around the same Ph? Just wanting to make sure I understand! Duggan
  5. It's not a gold fish tank (if I'm correct on what a gold fish tank is), its a 14 gallon tank.
  6. I've had my fish for about a week - guppies! My Amonia level is 0, but my Ph level read at 7.6. I've read that different fish require different Ph levels. Correct? 7.6 seems high, it read high on my chart! How do I bring it down? I am new at this and don't want to hut my little fishies! Their so cute and fun to watch! Sorry for so many questions - I'm new at all of this! Duggan
  7. Hello! I am new to the site and new to my tank! I got guppies! Their beautiful! Anyway, I was told I need to buy a testing kit - to test Amonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and others (spelling?) Is there a certain brand I should buy or any other information I should know before I go to the store to get it? I have a 15 (apx) gallon tank! Thanks for the help! Duggan
