  1. Hi all. I bought too many nerite snails and I want to re-home some of them. There are 2 olive nerites about 1 inch across, and 1 horned nerite about 1/2 an inch in size. I paid 2.50 each for them. I'd like to sell all 3 together for $7 plus postage. I think postage will be about $5. Nerites are GREAT algae eaters and they don't need to be removed from the tank if you treat with salt. They also don't reproduce in the tank so you don't need to worry about being over-run with them. They are very pretty and interesting to watch and eat a TON of algae. Shipping to US locations only. PM me with you address and email so I can send you a paypal invoice.
  2. How frustrating! Hang in there, though...Koko is a wizard at getting cycles going. Good luck! mj
  3. Urgh! I'd be so mad at the neighbor! I hope you can catch them quickly before they eat up your fish! mj
  4. It's a really lovely set up. Super bonus points because it's within a screened in area so you don't need to worry about predators!! I am so impressed. Such lucky fish!! mj
  5. Very nice tank. I like the water lettuce roots hanging down. I'd love to do something like that in a window. LOL Pirate fish!!
  6. Very nice. Rummy noses are a big favorite over in the Planted Tank Forum I sometimes visit. I didn't realize that about their water sensitivity. Cute fish! I love that they school. Thanks for sharing. mj
  7. Wow! That's a great background, becs. Thanks for sharing. mj
  8. What a cute fish, Mandie! I can see why you got him louse and all. Now you are one of the fo's expert de-lousers. I will call on you if I ever need a fish de-loused. Those things give me the heebie jeebies!
  9. Wow! That's so interesting! (and a bit scary!!) Thanks, Dr. Koko-stein! mj

    Got one!

Yay! He looks like a real cutie. Congratulations!!!
  11. That's a tough situation. You are being very responsible, and I'm sure that will pay off at some point. In the meantime - hang in there!! mj
  12. That's too bad, Courtney! How disappointing to be so close to being set up only to have it fail. However, I still admire that you designed and built the sump yourself. good luck! I look forward to seeing what you decide. MJ
  13. They are nerites!! That's good news! I was not looking forward to maintaining the snail habitat for a week. I actually like the idea of small habitats in different parts of the house, but the maintenance seems a bit much. Thanks for the good news, and all your contributions tot he fo, Alex. MJ
  14. Thanks, Alex. That's very interesting. My new betta has yet to make a bubble nest. I've only had him for about a month. Any ideas why that may be? He's active and eating, and has nice clean water to live in.
  15. So the gang has been eating Repashy for about 2 weeks and I wanted to see if it's made a difference in their weight: Fluffy 59 grams Hercule Poirot 21 Jelly Bean 9 Emma Goldman 17 on July 19, Fluffy 56 grams Hercule 18 grams Emma 14 Jelly 9 Fluffy has been much less floaty since we switched to Repashy. They all seem to love it and are doing well if the weight gain is any indication. Jelly Bean has not put on any weight...it's kind of strange because I think he looks bigger...time will tell, I guess. Today when I did the water change, I noticed some white 'grains of salt' on Fluffy and Hercule. I decided to dose with .1% salt. So I had to move the snails out to their own container. Here's a picture. They have a plant, a bubbler and a net so they won't crawl out. They look pretty happy. I've put some Repashy in there for food. They don't seem to have discovered its deliciousness yet. That's the news from the Bubbles house for now! Happy Weekend to you all! mj
  16. Draco looks very happy in there. I like the roots of the floating plants hanging down. I'm beginning to think that my new plaket Perry would like a larger tank. He swims much more than my other betta who had more finnage. mj

  21. I fill my hoses with hydrogen peroxide and water to get the gunk out. Then I run clear water through them to rinse. It gets rids if the gunk and I feel its safer than bleach. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
  22. Livekoiforsale? I think that was the person I got mine from. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

  25. I agree that you don't need many snails. I got a bit greedy when I bought them. They are a lot of fun & add additional interest to the tank. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
