  1. I wouldn't prazi them at all. Prazi isn't as affective in tropical fish. Just bring it up to a tropical fish keeper. They laugh. When my new round of Angelfish had flukes I asked an angelfish forum for help. They suggested formilin and a refund.

Just go with super clean water. I had such great success with otos and clean water. I had seven for two years when the stress of the move was too much :(

  2. I know you said you are working on getting the test kits but can you please fill out the following form.

    • Test Results for the Following:
      • * Ammonia Level(Tank)
      • * Nitrite Level(Tank)
      • * Nitrate level(Tank)
      • * Ammonia Level(Tap)
      • * Nitrite Level(Tap)
      • * Nitrate level(Tap)
      • * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines)
      • * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines)

    Other Required Info:

    • * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops?
    • * Water temperature?
    • * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running?
    • * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)?
    • * How often do you change the water and how much?
    • * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change?
    • * How many fish in the tank and their size?
    • * What kind of water additives or conditioners?
    • * What do you feed your fish and how often?
    • * Any new fish added to the tank?
    • * Any medications added to the tank?
    • * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment.
    • * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus?
    • * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.?

Also, are you adding the salt for treatment? It actually worsens toxicity of the ammonia present so I would discontinue using it.

  3. Hi all! Long time no see! I spent last week getting all of the tanks cleaned up and back up to my standards. So here are a couple videos with one more to come in the next couple of days.

First off. My 55 with 9 goldfish and one pleco. Please...watch the video before you freak out :P

And my babies! Almost a year old! I am one proud momma.

  4. I have kept fry in shallow tubs with about 3" of water. I moved them into a fresh tub every other day. If the water is shallow, it is really quite easy to scoop a tiny baby up in your cupped hand and move it to a clean container. It stays in water through the transfer.

This is what I did as well. Except I moved my fry with either a tablespoon or cup.

  5. That was exactly what they were. My friend had a few pond raised fry around two months old. They were fancies. Ranchus to be precise if that would change anything. I kept them for the winter and then just kept them lol until the move. They have grown more in the 2 months he has had them back than the 10 I had them.

  6. I personally wouldn't add them to that tank. I water pressure from a tank that big kinda slows down their growth. I tried it with some fry in my 180 and they didn't grow at all for a year. I thought they were stunted until I gave them to a friend.

  7. Ceramic rings. ?There was ?a big debate over which one was best in the subscriber section the other day. ? :rofl ?I think it just comes down to personal preference. ?

Some of us prefer this :whistle

    While others prefer this:

Those seemed to be the ones people used the most. ? :D

I'm not very familiar with the AquaTech but I had 2 Emperor 400s. ?What do you have in the gray cartridges? ?That's is what I filled with the ceramic media. ? :D

I have both of those in one filter lol

  8. I have a fish room...it only has the big tank though since it takes up the whole room lol I had all my tanks in my parent's basement and it was really nice for the work that had to be done but I never really went down there and saw them. And it is easy to forget about them on a really busy day :(

I gotta ask how big your tank is lol.

180 gallons. Six feet by two feet by two feet. The room it is in is 8 feet by 8 feet lol
