  1. I am sorry for your loss most sellers have that guarantee unfortunately. I've gotten fish from Ken when the temps were in the high 90s. When you have a seller that really knows how to ship, then temps don't play as big of a role.
  2. I wouldn't prazi them at all. Prazi isn't as affective in tropical fish. Just bring it up to a tropical fish keeper. They laugh. When my new round of Angelfish had flukes I asked an angelfish forum for help. They suggested formilin and a refund. Just go with super clean water. I had such great success with otos and clean water. I had seven for two years when the stress of the move was too much
  3. I know you said you are working on getting the test kits but can you please fill out the following form. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) * Nitrite Level(Tank) * Nitrate level(Tank) * Ammonia Level(Tap) * Nitrite Level(Tap) * Nitrate level(Tap) * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? * Water temperature? * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? * How often do you change the water and how much? * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? * How many fish in the tank and their size? * What kind of water additives or conditioners? * What do you feed your fish and how often? * Any new fish added to the tank? * Any medications added to the tank? * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Also, are you adding the salt for treatment? It actually worsens toxicity of the ammonia present so I would discontinue using it.
  4. Your BB will be fine. I have several times done a water change with either much colder or warmer water and no cycle problems.
  5. I ended up not painting the tank but just saving my money and leaving it the way it was. I haven't weighed the fry in a while but I can give it a try when I do their next water change. Here is the 180.
  6. They are so beautiful! And really make me miss the Professor.
  7. I am stealing all of your ranchus They are beautiful. Where did you get the new scale? I have some big guys and I doubt my little scale will work for them.
  8. Hi all! Long time no see! I spent last week getting all of the tanks cleaned up and back up to my standards. So here are a couple videos with one more to come in the next couple of days. First off. My 55 with 9 goldfish and one pleco. Please...watch the video before you freak out And my babies! Almost a year old! I am one proud momma.
  9. This is what I did as well. Except I moved my fry with either a tablespoon or cup.
  10. I hope I don't sound rude in saying this. But with a dropsy fish you really cannot let the water changes go to every two weeks. And if you absolutely must let it go for two weeks, do a 90% water change and not just a 50%.
  11. I have 11 of them in 4 different tanks. As long as you feed them when algae is low, they usually don't cause an issue. The only time mine showed any aggression was when my male was guarding eggs and the goldies got too close. But he never attacked.
  12. Wow! Great work with them . Have you weighed them at all?
  13. He is a cutie! A heater will be fine. Does it have suction cups? Just suction cup the heater to the bottom.
  14. That was exactly what they were. My friend had a few pond raised fry around two months old. They were fancies. Ranchus to be precise if that would change anything. I kept them for the winter and then just kept them lol until the move. They have grown more in the 2 months he has had them back than the 10 I had them.
  15. Welcome! You got lots of great advicr so I just went to look at your boxer pics...I have two of them slowly pushing me out of bed right now lol
  16. I personally wouldn't add them to that tank. I water pressure from a tank that big kinda slows down their growth. I tried it with some fry in my 180 and they didn't grow at all for a year. I thought they were stunted until I gave them to a friend.
  17. I actually have the opposite problem. My pressure is so high that it broke my python. I used to use the method of out the door at my parent's house but that has changed to out the window I am going to put a veggie garden under the windows this spring
  18. I would just continue to keep an eye on your parameters. I don't think your cycle has crashed but it may have a slight bump.
  19. I would suggest to try feeding love food for atleast the first few feedings. When they are newly hatched they have poor eyesight and dont see many things as food. The movement of the bbs attracts them quickly. Once they realize it is food, it is easier to switch them.
  20. I love love love my fluval canisters! I want to replace all my filters with them.
  21. The room and tank are a mess at the moment but when get it cleaned I will certainly do a picture. It has 8 fish at the moment. One is in qt.
  22. I gotta ask how big your tank is lol. 180 gallons. Six feet by two feet by two feet. The room it is in is 8 feet by 8 feet lol
  23. I just found out that they are all boys! So an update was done
  24. I have a fish room...it only has the big tank though since it takes up the whole room lol I had all my tanks in my parent's basement and it was really nice for the work that had to be done but I never really went down there and saw them. And it is easy to forget about them on a really busy day
