  1. Thank you Alex How will we get a handle on what's going on with the system? See if any of the other two fish come down with something? If they don't, it would be safe to introduce new fish? Again, I know you are burning the candle at both ends and I can feel your sleep deprivation ( well, I would be sleep deprived). Have a beer on me and get some sleep!
  2. Unfortunately, he died this morning Any ideas on what it could have been? I would hazard to say it is something caused by the ich outbreak? Geez, I feel so helpless.
  3. Bagho, Hopefully this fish pulls through. I've been having issues myself and love to hear happy endings Hang on until a mod or helper gets back. I know Alex had given me a formula for gel food which included the medication Again, hang in there until they can advise you! Now that I know he's a biologist, I know why all this fish stuff is easy for him I kept calling him DNA-Lex until about 8 months ago
  4. Oh Tithra, they are so cute! How old are they now? Celeste
  5. Ok, on the gel food. Here is one video and I included the two other fish. I'm also uploading one right now where he is swimming around a bit and the lighting is a bit better.
  6. He's barely swimming now and listing to one side a bit. Today was the day to feed the AP gel food. I can post a video I just took if you would like We could move him to a QT tank but I'm afraid he won't make the transfer
  7. Hey Alex, I have three fish in the tank-one large ranchu, one pearlscape and the black ranchu that is sick. The large ranchu and pearlscale are behaving normally and I see no abnormalities on their body.
  8. I did manage to hold him and guide him to the food so he did eat two small pieces. However, he is listing slightly sideways when resting:(
  9. The fish next to him is a pearlscale Something is really wrong. I had him in a breeder bin to keep an eye on him but when I let him out a few minutes ago, he started swimming like a stick and he got stuck to the filter He also stopped eating. Ok, I'm bringing the salt to .1% and will get it up to .2% tonight.
  10. Yep, I screwed up my numbers and it's 5.0ppm. He's doing more bottom sitting and hiding now Here are some pics of my 47 gal tall:

Cloudy eyes, excess slime coat or coating around right side of face * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? Bottom hovering and hiding but not sitting Hey all, I have a black ranchu who started developing cloudy eye a few days ago and have been keeping an eye on it. This morning however, the fish has been hiding a bit and hovering near the bottom. On June 30, the tank had ich and I treated that. Previously I also had a fish die and it was suspected that I had worms and have been treating with the Jungle AP gel food mix thing. I'll feed the fish for four days, then feed green beans for two to prevent constipation. I did notice yesterday the fish had white stringy poop but was unable to collect it. I did just feed the fish prior to posting and he is out and about eating and poking around. It's interesting to note that this fish is from the same batch of ranchu's as my two other ranchu's. The other two developed cloudy eye also but one died from a cut and the other died from ich. The first two fish were bought in mid January and this guy was bought in the first week of June but were all from the same shipment. This fish was always kept in a separate tank from the first two ranchu's once I got them home. Because of the white stringy poop and hovering, I'm beginning to suspect something else is bothering him. Any ideas? Celeste
  12. GreenTea, I'm so very sorry this has happened to you. I think it's everyone's worst nightmare and with the exceptional help you are getting, I hope the fish will pull through. We'll all be thinking of you and wishing you the best! Celeste
  13. Will I need to treat all my tanks? I'm in the process of changing the water in all my tanks and it seem that one stage of worms involves free floating. It seems to indicate that it may be spread via the python...ist this correct?
  14. Ok, fair enough How long do I feed my fish? Also, can the worms be transmitted via pythons?
