  1. Thanks! Yes they are beautiful! I love my fishes. I am being transferred and will live in corporate housing for 3 months. I will have no way to set up a tank for them. So, sadly I cannot take them. Ranchu has a happy home, thanks for asking. R
  2. HellO! I am being transferred this fall to NJ. I am currently in SoCal and am afraid to try and drag them that far. I have 6 big beautiful healthy fish ranging from 5" to 12" in length. They are in an 85 gallon tank and need to stay in something large. Also a 4 month baby Ryukin. There are: 1 Ryukin male 1 Fantail male 1 Black Moor female 1 Orange Oranda female 1 single tailed Ryukin male (offspring of Ryukin and Black Moor) 1 Ryukin female (offspring of Ryukin and Black Moor)- She swims fine and eats and is wonderful but has a small floating problem. She sinks slowly when not swimming. She is 2 yrs old and has done it since she was born. Totally healthy. 1 4mo old baby Ryukin, too soon to tell sex (offspring of Ryukin and Black Moor) I want them to go to a good private home, I have had the original ones since they were the size of my thumb joint and the babies are around two. I am feeling SICK about leaving them behind. Check out the photoshoot! Nice to have a photographer neighbor! http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa396/rawolfe/
  3. Hi! SOrry for the delay, I am in West Hollywood. I dont want money, I want a good safe home with an experienced goldfish keeper. http://s1195.photobucket.com/albums/aa396/rawolfe/

  5. You should break down the new tank, scrub it with vinegar and transfer over your cycle with the old gravel and filter media. You never know what is lurking..................
  6. Do they start out clear and then turn brown? Crazy. I have cut back on feeding and am cleaning like crazy. There are less but they are still there. Ugh.
  7. So sorry about your fish. My moor always seems to be more sensitive to water problems than my others. Tank seems a little overloaded.
  8. Great articles, thank you! As far as the tank, I would hide the equipment. Nice driftwood!
  9. Please be sure that you get PLUMBING grade PVC, normal construction grade would not be safe
  10. If it is super soft, it is no good. Also, driftwood will soften the water of your tank so you have to watch that. Goldfish like their water a little hard.
  11. They will lay sacs of eggs like frogs. You will find them EVERYWHERE, like little blobs of gel with a ton of tiny eggs.
  12. You have to watch those snails, they breed like mice. They can get in your filter and just go everywhere.
  13. Try Mikeswetpets on Ebay. His stuff is always superclean and healthy, true to the pics. My goldfish rip them apart immediately though.................
  14. I let the algae grow on the back wall of my tank, it seems to control it every where else for some reason. I have HUGE wysteria planted in jars in my tank and they are algae free. This was NOT the case BEFORE i let the algae grow on the back wall. R
  15. I wouldnt put them in there, they may leach chemicals, and there could be a stagnant water problem inside them. R
  16. HEY! Great idea. I am in CA and worry about earthquaked CONSTANTLY! Thanks.
  17. Here is a great article on that. I consulted a structural engineer and I am ok with my 1100lb tank against a load bearing wall. You should also worry about homeowners or renters insurance though. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/aquarium_weight.php
  18. Interesting. How far from the bottom of the tank is the light bulb?
  19. Excuse the pics, I only have the phone camera here at the moment. I make sure the jar is PACKED with filter sponge and am careful to vaccuum in there when I clean. Have had them for over a yr with no problems.
  20. I always thought they were unsafe! Had a similiar experience. http://goldfishconnection.com/articles/details.php?articleId=144&parentId=1
