  • How many Goldfish
    2 Oranda,1 Telescope
  1. Indeed you should! I imagine he's doing exactly what my Chubbs is doing. This has been a very slow process. As compared to my black moor, now gold demekin, Apollo. Who literally went from all black, to all orange/gold within two months. Thats EXACTLY whats sammy is doing!
  2. I should post some pictures
  3. OHH thank you! I was worried I was doing something wrong
  4. Sammy my red cap oranda used to be Pearle white now he has big patches of orange! and Some of his fins are turning orange too? Is this normal? It has been happening for around 6 months now.
  5. I'm hoping when she gets a fancy she will upgrade to a bigger tank.possibly my 29 when I get a bigger one aswell
  6. Last year my aunt received a goldfish from her son In a little one gallon tank and she thought it looked to small so she bought a 10 gallon tank for him and then she bought 2 more orandas and a koi and a telescope and a common to put in her tank.Every thing went downhill and the koi and common killed some of the fancys. And the remaining fish got sick and it was a disaster. She didn't cycle the tank or anything. Luckily she called me and I helped her re home the beautiful koi she had (which is now in a pond).I offered to help her start fresh but she refused and said it was too hard to keep up with. Today she came over and was talking to my mom and I noticed she kept looking at my aquarium.I asked her what she had done with her 10 gallon and she said it is in the shed so I offered to help her cycle her tank and go with her to pick a goldie out and she said yes! . So I was thinking since her tank is brand new,I have a extra Bio Fiber In my extra filter thats running on my tank in case my big filter broke or whatnot,so I thought we would just swap bio fibers and give her the cycled one and her give me the non cycled one and I would also giver her some of my tank water.Today I gave her a run down about fancy tails and single tails and showed her how to use the siphon and how many times to clean the tank and how much to change. So all is going well so far ! But I wonder if that is enough to cycle the tank? I also told her I would print off some information on goldfish care for her Wish me luck
  7. I got my river rocks at a dollar store ...big tubs of them. You can probably also find them in wally world.Or better yet a actual river! lol
  8. I found some plants in a local river and I wan't to know what type they are. I have kept these plants with my old goldies before that I found in a lake and they did great but then they became a salad bar. They look like this But it says it is a elodea and they are only found in warmer climates. So I'm kinda confused Also I found some small lily pads in a swamp and washed them of and put them in the tank,The goldies seem pretty please with them, munching and swimming through them Pictures of the plant Lilly pads ok after looking at the pictures I realize the first picture and my pictures don't really look alike
  9. After i changed the water he is swimming around and really happy, but not eating very much.
  10. Dosn't it stress your betta's when you have a see through divider? By the way lovely fish
  11. Hmmm Im not sure? They are pretty docile and They never are curious of whats on the other side of the divider.
  12. ok But I can't get the salt today
  13. Prince has been happy and eating and flaring at me since i got him. And ninja will hardly eat anymore and lays on the bottom of the tank. They cannot see each other at all with the divider I made,
