  1. Are New Life Spectrum Thera A, better than their Goldfish blend? http://www.nlspectrum.co.uk/product_goldfish_koi.php?p=goldfish
  2. My female Orange Fantail, Tvilsen are more than 10 years old now She has been i 4 different setups...The first 3 way to small. Now she lives i a 66 gallons / 250 liter tank with riversand as substrate. I feed her (and her tankmates) different foods, but use alot of Repashy gelfood now. Both Hikari fancy goldfish pellets and Pro-gold makes her old body float, if i only use that. Peas, beans, Duckweed and Bloodworms are also a hit She is the big Orange and white one (she is turning white with age) in this movie:
  3. I will keep you updated Actually i think many of you guys know more about goldfish care, than the vets in Denmark. I have a feeling, that people/vets mostly just give up on sick goldfish and reccommend euthanizing. A forum friend, from a danish forum, could not even get Metronidazole tablets from the vet in Denmark, since they did not think it would help a goldfish with dropsy. I sent her Jungle AP and she saved her fish (sadly it got dropsy again later and died) In this forum we love our fish and will go the distance to help and keep them. I will try to get help from the goldfish lovers in this forum, before i try the average danish vet
  4. Thx Im hoping for the best then, and will update later
  5. Weeeee! Great news Here 3-4 weeks after her Metro-meds treatment, something happened. It did seem like her tumor was changing, certainly not growing, more turning into a scab. Today the scab came off and she is allmost as good as new I am so happy It must not have been a tumor after all?
  6. Thx Tithra She seems very happy to be back in the main tank again. She is a little mad at me, but that allways happens when i handle her. It usually passes in a few days
  7. Allmost 2 weeks on MM and no effect. Seems like the tumot diagnose are correct. I will move her back to main tank tomorrow. Any thoughts?
  8. One week on Metro meds has passed. Tvilsen still have her tumor She still seems happy, but tired. She is so cute Video from today.
  9. Feeding metromeds pellets from goldfishconnection.
  10. I thought about trying a cycle of Metromeds...In case it is something else than tumors? To me, it looks like another smalle one is forming on her butt. Can you remind me the dosing? I cant find my old threads since the new look on Kokos
  11. Thank you for your help and kind words all. I will update this thread later. It is very nice being a member, in a forum with so many experienced goldfish parents
  12. I hope not, but if it grows so big that it makes her life too hard, then i must be prepared to help her find peace.
  13. Thank you very much for your input. I guess, i will just love and take care of her, for as long as possible She have had an amazing life so far, survived dropsy and have made many 1000 eggs. In her prime she made me eggs every two weeks!!! One time even on my birthday. Several other fish have come and gone in her lifetime too. She is my precious little girl <3
  14. Amazing thread Helen. You are so brave!! My hands shake by the thought of such a procedure. Can i ask a few questiones more? 1 - How sure are you that Tvilsens "bump" are a tumor? 2 - If removed surgically, will it grow back? 3 - Du we know the couse of such tumors?
  15. That's not good :/ What do you recommend i do Helen?

If you have time, i would like your opinions about this problem. For about 2-3 months ago, my 10+ year old female fantail, Tvilsen, got a tiny bump on her neck. Now it have grown to the size of about double the size of the head of a matchstick. (5-6 mm. in Diameter) What do you think it might be? Should i start treating her with Metro Meds? Please lemme know if you have seen this before and can help old Tvilsen Best Regards Jesper / Guldklumpen
  17. Thx. They really love attention. Sadly they lille black/white one, Pepper, is now longer with us Had to euthanize her after permanent bottomsitting for months was giving her sores. I miss her so much
  18. Update! Tvilsen's black spot is all gone now......Yeeeeeeay
  19. Update! Melafix did nothing and Stress Coat have yet to show up :S However, i changed her diet away from conventional fishfood, to only raw foods and gelfood for floaters, so now she spends more time with her dorsal fin under water. That seems to be helping and the spot is now smaller. I will post again later
  20. I only have Melafix now, but have just ordered Stress Coat. It will be here in about a week
