  7. He's just 5 years old and he's more like a woman I always tell him he is always changing his mind (LOL) Today hubby and I took him to the Bear Mountain State Park N.Y.(A little zoo there) and on the way home he asked if I could bring back his new fish and get him something different I was so upset But told him firmly "NO" that the only reason we were able to exchange his eel's is because we only had them for a day and the pet shop people gave us the wrong information on them (and now I love the Bubble eye's :)He got mad But he'll get over it I expect...
  8. Update...My Grandson came last night and was not crazy about his tank he thinks it's a little girly perhaps it is),He said he wanted it like "mine" and mine has natural rocks in it (LOL) so... anyway we will be redoing his tank today after he picks out his rocks!!!Maybe I will redo mine like his was (LOL)I do really like his (LOL)
  9. Very cute goldies and excellent pic's Thanks for sharing!!!
  10. yes I think I will save and get a 10 gallon I love the look of the bookshelf tank But I hate the lid on it Ill keep it for now till I can get the 10 gallon thanks for your input
  11. I'm sure some one with more experience will be along shortly,But I have a 30 gallon bare bottom tank with a Black Moor(Bubbles),Calico Fantail(Patch),and a Red Cap Oranda (Spot)and what i do is drop a little in and the Red cap (Spot) usually is there first... while she's/he's busy hogging what i put in, I drop a little more where Bubble's is (black Moor) and that seems to help...possibly the Bare Bottom makes it a little easier as well...Hope this helps some :)Keep us posted OK
  12. Whoo Hoo my readings in my 30 gallon are as follows PH-7.6 Nitrite-0 Ammonia-0 Nitrate 10 Temp-70 Thank you Daryl!!!The daily large water changes have helped so much...(now just to get the 20 high to do the same)1 Question, would it be ok for me to go back to 1/3 w/c every other day in my 30 gallon like I was doing, now that my reading are safe???And continue with large w/c's in my 20 high daily until I get the same readings???
  13. They're all Fabulous, and so Cute I'm happy to hear your otter guy's feeling better !!I am so excited for you!!!,and a little jealous too (LOL)
  14. He is a Beautiful Betta Boy Congrats on the new addition Where did you find him??? I have been thinking of getting another myself, I so miss my Spunkmeyer
  15. Thanks I do think a Blue Background will look best and as it's in my Grandsons room I think Blue's the way to go..I am so Happy with the Bigger Tank I would have rather had a long instead of the high, but now that it's set up I am thrilled with it Do you all think Hanging on to my 6.6 gallon tank would be good for a hospital Tank, or should I invest in a 10 gallon? Oh and while I was at the lps I saw a red telescope moor with some black on it almost like a panda but opposite if you know what I mean?would the black go away? just wondering the tank said red moors not panda (lol) It was soooo Cute!!!
  16. Hello all, I just finished switching the Bubble Eye's to there new home They moved from a small bookshelf tank (6.6 gallon) to their new 20 Gallon High, media from old filter in there new filter Large water change (as suggested by Daryl)whoo hoo I just need a new background and a few larger plants but they seem to be loving it as am I
  17. Very cute Goldfish I love her coloring Thanks for sharing your Pic's
  18. aww... sorry to hear it didn't work out for you and squirt maybe later at another time. I was kind wondering how some people on here had such an assortment of sized goldfish in their tanks?I wanted all mine to grow up together and was worried about a bigger one eating or bullying a smaller one??But I guess it can successfully be done... Keep us posted if you try again, or get that perty pearlie
  19. Absolutely Wonderful!!!So Very Creative Congrats!!And your fish are too cute as well!!!Hope you don't mind I'm gonna send a pic of your Tank to my Mom in Florida she's got a 60 gallon and thinking of goldfish and her Tanks outside in her tiki bar and this would be just the thing to motivate her lol
  20. Thanks Again Daryl, I will do what you have suggested,I do use prime with every water change my Nitrites were as high as 2.0 at one point and I was thinking since there dropping, as well as the ammonia and nitrates, I was almost in the clear I did also test my tap water and it's all at 0 that at least is a relief I also have added some freswater salt (suggested by my Mom & Pop type of pet shop when I had Ich But I do not have one of those things with which to measure it's content? So how do I keep track of that,or by removing all the water will I also be removing the salt? So off to do a water change again... (LOL) in hope's I will not lose any of my precious babies And will continue to do so daily until my Nitrites are at a lower more acceptable number Again Thanks so much :)will keep you posted!!
  21. My test results are as follows ph 7.6 Nitrite 5.0 Ammonia 0 Nitrate 1.0 Temp 70 1/3 water change every other day Is this where I should be after 4 weeks, when I got my first goldies the girl at the lps said I was cycled are these results anything I should be worried about if so what am I to watch for,all fish seem to be acting fine in fact so excited to see spot's wen is developing
  22. Well I sure do hope your little one gets to feeling better real soon,I am also new at this goldfish stuff, so I will leave the advise to the experts But I will comment on the pet shops giving the wrong advise as far as stocking a tank properly,I have a 30 gallon and when I got it cycled and went to the shop they told me I could easily have 5 or more ;( I stuck with my original plan of 3 and they (my goldfish)are much happier for it Anyway welcome aboard and hope all goes well with your GF
  23. That is an awesome tank!!!I have never seen a tank like that!!!Congrats on the new tank and the new addition!!! I just love Calico's And I like Shawna's Idea very creative
