  2. My Calico Fantail recently has had this large white, red tumor thing come up on her right blow the fin on top her back. It has gotten bigger and this morning it is now an open tumor. I can't see anything coming out of it, but it is this white color. She is eating and swimming fine. I have prazi pro and didn't know if I should put that in to help or what. I am running late to a meeting and will update later on tank info... but this looks really bad. HELP!
  3. The levels as you can see are everywhere at the moment, please remember that I had put in a "fungus clear" tablet earlier which I think is what is messing the levels up. I did this because of how her symptoms were at the time. [*]Test Results for the Following: [*]Ammonia Level? - 1.5 (using test strips on all) [*]Nitrite Level? - 1.0 [*]Nitrate level? - 20 [*]Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines)? - 6.8 [*]Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? - Jungle test stips [*]Water temperature? - dont have thermometer, but our house temp is around 72 and I keep her lights on all day [*]Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? - 10gal. 2+ years running [*]What is the name and size of the filter(s)? [*]Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? wasn't eating earlier, but did tonight, has been sitting at the bottom for months Some of the medicines I have tried are PraziPro, Quick Cure, Aquarium Salt, Fungus clear. Also I dont often clean the rocks, I cant find a vacuum that works to hep filter them out. Here are so pics just taken.
  4. I am having to run to a second job I will try and get all of that done for you tonight!
  5. Some of you may remember I have a fish name dixie who has been sitting at the bottom of her tank for months now, like july or something. I have done everything you all have suggested medicine wise, cycling the water, salt, etc. Nothing has worked. She is content in staying at the bottom and eating and swimming around when she wants. I had taken Rebel (algae eater) out of the tank for a month or so thinking that he might have been harming her. It was around the middle of september when I put him back in and they have been doing fine. Today, I come in from work to find dixie with her tail full of blood, a spot up on the top of her all red, fin rot, all her fins down by her side, and her not wanting to move. It was a matter of 8 hours that all of this took place, because early this morning she was her usual self sitting at the bottom. I am thinking of getting rid of the algae eater all together, bc he might have something to do with it. I put in this medicine called fungus clear bc it described all of her symptoms. She actually has moved around a little since I did that about 20 minutes ago. I have been cycling out the water like normal and all levels were fine this past week. I am not sure what to do! Everything changed so fast! I can try and post some pics later tonight when I have time. Please help!
  6. okay the water levels in the tank haven't changed much. The PH level seems to be running a little high 7.8 or higher. Nitrate is up barely too. I started filtering out the fluke medicine becuase it had been a week and half and no improvement, it had three doses in it at the time. I am doing another cycle change as we speak, starting with 50% again. I put my algae eater back in there today to see if that would make my goldfish a little more lively or not. Something I am noticing is that when Dixie does swim (which is very rarely) it is quick and fast and hard back to the bottom, like jerky moves. i will try to get some more pics later, but can't at the moment. I don't know what to do. Could there be an egg stuck? how do I check that out? should i put her back on peas again? or try a fungus clear again? i just feel like she is suffering and I don't want to keep her this way. it has been a couple months now. Please help with any advice!
  7. okay I have officially put in two doses and tonight I am putting in a third dose... how long should I keep putting this stuff in? Should I start seeing the effects of it? Let me know KoKo what you think pretty please! I just don't know what to do:(
  8. it is day three of prazipro being in her tank, and no improvement yet! will i be looking for anything specific to happen or see? she is in a 10 gallon, so i put 1/2tsp. Do i need to do a water change before the next dose tomorrow? I hope I am doing it right, I took out the filter and did a 50% water change before i started.
  9. just to keep everyone in the loop, I have ordered some of the prazipro and it should be here in the next couple of days. I hope this works because there has been no changes in her at all. Also will there be clear directions on the bottle of how to use it? Is there any recommendations on what works best? Thanks a bunch!
  10. no i havent treated the tank for anything like this before. Where can i get the medicine besides having to order it online? can u see flukes with the naked eye? because i am not seeing anything on her.
  11. when she is not eating she is breathing very slowly. i don't know what flukes are? is there a way to tell what it is? all the other stuff on that page i have done. the only thing is the nitrates that it says it should have are not at that high of a level.
  12. Okay lets try this again. I will give all the information I know as of the tests i have done today and give a little history to keep everyone up to speed. Cause i am just praying something works:) someone mentioned before there could be an egg stuck, how can i tell? hopefully this redoing this information will help in some form! I really do appreciate everyone giving advice, I love Dixie & Rebel a lot! [*]Test Results for the Following: [*]Ammonia Level? -0 (its a dip stick test, but all I could find. It did stay white and read a perfect 0) [*]Nitrite Level? - 0 (5-n-1 test kit) [*]Nitrate level? - between 0 & 20, closer to the 0, but not quiet all the way white (5-n-1 test kit) [*]Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines)? on the drop test kit it read higher than a 7.6, thats the highest it would go. On the 5-n-1 test kit it read somewhere between a 7.8-8.4, i'm guessing around an 8, which I think is probably high! Alkalinity - reading between a 180-300 which i know is a big range, I would close to the 300, but I don't know how what it should be or how to fix it if it is wrong. (5-n-1 test kit) Hardness - 75 (5-n-1 test kit) [*]Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? it is all used with strips except the ph, but i can't get anything else fast enough [*]Water temperature? between 68-72 which is house temp, but the light stays on all thru the day making the water a little warmer, but at night cooler [*]Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? - 10gallons for two years [*]What is the name and size of the filter(s)? -aqua-tech and 5-15gallon flitters. [*]How often do you change the water and how much? past month I have been cycling the water, so 50% for a few days, but these past couple weeks, I have been changing 25% twice a week [*]How many fish in the tank and their size? - Calico Fantail (dixie)-the sick one and a algae eater, which has been out of the tank for 2 weeks now because of sucking on the Dixie. i hope i am not harming my algae eater in the process:( [*]What kind of water additives or conditioners? -"Jungle"- strips, "API' for ph drop test, "API" for aquarium salt, "Tetra Aqua- Aqua Safe" for conditioner [*]What do you feed your fish and how often? "Tetra Fin" goldfish flakes [*]Any new fish added to the tank? no [*]Any medications added to the tank? not in the past month [*]Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? - on her fantail i noticed the other day blood streaks, but no tail rot. today it looks more like veins or something [*]Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? she has been staying at the bottom for a while now, hasn't stopped eating, but does not swim around. I fasted her for 3 days and now it is day 4 of being on peas. i havent noticed a lot of poop at all. she still looks the same as a couple pictures ago. she will swim around the tank once or twice and then go back to the bottom. she does come up briefly to eat. When she eats even thou the peas are mushed it takes her forever to chew it and she breathes pretty heavy while eating.
  13. i have no way of testing the ammonia in the tank, around my town there are no tests for that. I keep cycling the water out, so wouldn't that get rid of it? any home remedies to figure out the ammonia levels?
  14. okay so i have fasted her for three days and now it is day two of giving her peas. To be honest i am not seeing poop really at all, not like a couple months ago when I put her on peas. She is still sitting on the bottom and occasionally swims around, but just for a second and then back to the bottom. The levels of the water are all reading in the normal, Ph is between 7.4-7.8, nitrate & nitrite are both reading 0, alkalinity is reading in the idea margin, hardness is reading a little high, but still in the normal range. Her belly is still pretty much the size it was before. i am noticing some red streaking in her tail, but there is no tail rot. she seems to be breathing pretty well. I am not sure what else to do? Can someone please help me any further?
