I wanted to check to see if my digital PH monitors read somewhat the same readings so I measured the PH on one tank with 3 different meters. None of the readings were even close to the same. Two of the meters are the same brand and give constant readings. (see in the picture below) The other one is also a digital meter but you dip it in. I would have expected them to be closer in their readings. Which one is the accurate one and why am I getting different readings?? I've properly and recently calibrated all of the meters so there should be no reason for the meters to be off. They say the two point meters only last 18 months. I've only had them a couple months. Which reading is the correct one? I'm frustrated because I spent a TON of money on these meters. Any suggestions? The blue tubes are the probes that go into the tank. I put them next to each other

Yes, and I've been advised not to. I guess to me its not worth it. I've heard horror stories with it. It's a nice concept though

No. He was a rescue. This is a video of him back in September: I found him at work when I started my job. Water had not been changed in two months, the tank was filthy and fully of so much decor it had ripped off scales. I rehabilitated him, but it was clear in the beginning that he was already starting to have swimbladder problems. He's always had a swollen abdomen. This video was taken in September 2012. Just the fact that he is alive is amazing. I didn't think he'd make it after he started having severe problems but he's showing me he wants to live.

Speckles I've had for almost two years now. He's handicapped, he can't stay upright... but he doesn't give up and he tries so hard. This fish inspires me. Just because he's handicapped doesn't mean he can't live a good life or that it isn't worth living.

They weren't quite sure what to think of the camera :)

Thanks guys. The white lionhead (actually a lemonhead lionhead) is Lila. I've had her since 2008! She's grown so much. I love my red caps too, although I'm not wild about the fact that Alphonso seems to be turning orange -

You'll laugh... i taped my iphone to the tank and walked away to see what they'd do. Always a surprise. This tank is 60 gallons, you can't see the whole tank -

That's so funny you say that because someone else said she looks like a torpedo lol!!! Nope, I've had her 6 years now and never had ventral fins -
Oh ok I will add the parameters

I am aware that she has some redness at the base of her tail. Anyways, here she is!

What does the form have to do with missing an eye?
-
I know tank is overstocked a little. I had Alfredo in a QT tank for a long time and just put him back in with his friends. I could leave him in the QT but I don't want him to be alone.

I know you don't hear much about Bloopy, but he is missing an eye. I have NO idea how this happened. He seems to be fine. Do I need to worry about infection? He's a tiny little guy.

Thanks!! Yeah I've been super busy doing horse shows and doing long drives going back and fourth between home and the shows that are out of town. Sometimes I get so tired after riding all day that I don't have the energy to get online. Thanks for checking with me! Everything's great and all the fish are doing well. As far as coloring, I asked the breeder. He said typically if they're a tri-color (he is not calico) the colors will stay, but if he were only gold and black more than likely eventually he'd lose the black. At least that's what I've experienced with fish thar color. I'm not positive on all of this though. I hope he stays the color he is.
