  1. Well...I went through the trouble, You cant even see the PURPLE!!!!!!
  2. has anyone ever used this kind of food before? I stoped using the flakes and bought a new food it seemed like it would be very good for their health with all the vitamins in the food n'all but I've used it for 3 days now and each time I do the tank gets this tink of the color purple! Its really dark purple now so Im strarving my darlings for today to see if the color will fade. My goldfish dont seem to have any kind of reaction to the water color they seem fine. I recon i'll do a water change today and buy wardly goldfish flakes again. does anyone have any experience with this color dyed food? Lemme see if I can get a pic of my tank with the web cam, its the only cam I've got
  3. Extension cord with electrical strip, I'll check up on where I can get one. Oh-and when i bought the mesh bag for the ammocarb I got a chance to see the ammo chips, I read the box and it MaDE more sense to me to buy the rechargable stuff, I'm not gonna let the sales people talk me into buying stuff anymores... The 20 gallon was the cheapest, and biggest I could get from craig's list I know they will still be over stocked but its a bit better than keeping them in the 10gal aint it? To top it off I missed about 3 weeks of aquarium scoping on craigs list so I'm sure I missed a great oppritunity in that passed time. I'm still aimin' for the 55gal though. I'm setting up the 20 gal today, so the only foreseeable delima I'm sure I will have is moving my darlings from lehigh to immokalee (1.5 hr drive) I'll guess I'll post then the day before all frantic-like and update the day after. Thanks a-billion daryl, Lynda Von G!
  4. Oie i messed up... <repast post> Oh-snaplejacks! I wasent aware I'd have to change it so often. I'll go with the mesh baggie since I rinse out the filter every week. My tank is a bit over stocked and because of that I can never get the ammoina in the tank to a perfect 0 so I reckon I'll start using the ammo-carb i bought a while back. I think I paid around 6 bucks for the carton so it would be less expensive to buy a carton a month (I calculate it will last this long) then buying a new filter every week? I think the filter is like...3??? Oie... also instead of making a new topic I though I could get some advice. right now my filter is for a ten gallon, and i have a 20 gallon with two more ten gallon filters, I dont have enough electrical outlets so I wanna get a better filter. when I set up the 20 gallon should I just get an extension cord to keep the two filters on either side or if I get a 20-40 gallon filter would it be sufficient? BTW the 20 gallon is a long rectangle so I was also worried that one side would get filtered and the other wouldnt. another thing I wanted advice on was something i read, it was that if you get a filter used for a tank size smaller than it was made for if will work way better?? like if you get a 50-60 gallon filter for a 20 or 30 gallon tank (just thowin numbers around) the filter would keep the tank virtually spot-less???? is this ture?

  6. My filter cartridge dosent have an oppening in it to replace the ammo carb is it alright if I just put the recommended amount of ammo carb in the back of the filter? I dont have any salt in the water just sand and plants. The reason I'm asking is because I dont have a mesh bag for the stuff.
  7. LMFBO! ((The B abriviates butt)) I probobly wouldnt be laughing if it happened to me though. *jinx much* The biggest tank i have is 20 gallons, ever since I got it I've been afraid of it shattering, only in that case I would actually be fearful for my fish. I for one never mind cleaning after my aquatic pigs so I guess think of it as cleaing after your GF, and if anything try and find something funny to laugh about it attitude is everything!
  8. Congratulations!! He is such a cute little fish! He looks really healthy! I hope he remains so!
  9. Yeah-yeah come first pay check I'm getting drop tests, and I KNOW thats not supposed to be the price of the ammoina drop test because people keep telling me, if only you all would stop telling me this and come with me to the Pet*Co and tell them then I'd be a tiny bit happier! (hint hint) and we have well water sofended by salt pellets so I been told its not wise to use it without knowing the effects it might cause. Biowheel huh? I'll check that out~thanks!
  10. Okie-pokie-lemon-smokey! that will be my VERY next purchase for my fish. (just as soon as I get my next Paycheck I'm out this weekend! XD) Oh and thank you for clarifying that up for me, someone from yahoo told me rinsing the same media was cheap and bad some time before I joined Koko's and I've been feeling bad about that since, but I think I can think more clearly for my fish now. I definatly trust your opinion more that some random guy from yahoo answers.
  11. OH well I guess when I had that panic attack a couple weeks ago counts as an outbreak? Ive been using the same one since my fish had gotten sick from when I used soap to clean my tank tools and my babies got sick I've hadent had problems since just changed when I finally found the store that sells them. I read in the booklet when i first got the aquarium package that for best results I shoud change the filter every week or so. Oh so when I get it brownish on a water change test I may actually have zero, i just didnt take the best offered to me here. X'C I'll get those drop test kit then, I guess its just my own issure with being...cheap.
  12. Sorry for the late reply got really busy with work (more hours so its great news really) I test after i do the water change sometimes before, I never got the drop tests i'm using the ammonia test strips since it was all I could afford at the time...WHY on earth are the ammonia only drop tests 2o Bucks!? OH yeah i recently (two days ago) bought a new filter media for my filter since Ive been rinsing out the old one for the past couple of months. (wal - mart is the only place that sells them) the last water change i did was the day I got the new filter media. OH and cullagan delivers one a week so i buy water from the water machines at the grocery store the 1.50 for 5 gal deals thingy-majiger. I havent tested the water before changing, I will do that the next time I get the water...wow that would be bad doing a water change just to put ammonia back in my fish tank! I gatta contact someone and complain if I find ammoia in it! Or do you gals think it was because of my old filter?
  13. Hmm... Can I have your advice on something? My ammonia has probobly NEVER been 0 should I get a rubber maid container house my fish in there and flush out my tank? cuz i can never get it down to 0.
  14. If it helps any when I had to find a new home for my pelco, I called the perso on the phone before I said he could have him I interviewed him about his tank and his experience with pelcos. I made SURE that my baby went to a good home. Its the least I could have done. I used craigs list though I got like 20 replies the first day, so dont worry about not finding someone, the only thing you gatta worry about is finding someone that is experienced enough to take care of him. BTW HE LOOKS SO CUTE!!! I could never find a GF with that black on their tail when I first set out looking for them.
  15. I'm always for saving feeder fish, I guess its better that you get already healthy ones but I cant help but feel sorry for the feeders EVERY...TIME...I...GO...TO...THE PET STORE! then I feel bad by the tiem I get to see the other healty fish.
