  1. I do know that she has a full time job and then has to take care of all the fish and fry and still find time to photograph and video all of the fish she lists on her site. And, when you add in water changes and getting orders out, along with culling and sorting, I can imagine why she may not want to spend time on the fish that she doesn't make that much profit from. I'm sure she has a tub that she scoops 3 fish from and ships them. I imagine she gets countless requests from people that ask 500 question about pet grade, and has to explain the imperfections and then they end up not purchasing. I can see her side for sure. I am sure I am leaving out some of the things she does for them also.
  2. Beautiful fish Jared. Good luck with him!!
  3. Grats Jenna!!! Best of luck with that beautiful fish!
  4. Which Sunsun do you have? All of mine came with an inline skimmer attachment. they look like this:
  5. Put it on a blanket or cardboard like DP said. I have moved many tanks without lifting them at all. Use physics to your advantage. Lots of sliding and leveraging.
  6. Never even thought of that, do you know the pros and cons? Pro's are it's much much cheaper. Con's are that it may take a bit longer to clean. It is not prewashed as much as aquarium specific sand. Otherwise. it's just sand, like the stuff you get from caribsea.
  7. I have the old shirt, I might as well try for the new one
  8. I would think pool filter sand would be close to this.
  9. Also, he could be tail biting and doing it to himself. Bettas often do that. Is there a chance he's stressing from the addition of the filter?
  10. I have tried bare bottom twice now and have always switched back to sand. My fish seem bored and unless you really are in the mood to scrub the sides and bottom every week, it starts to look messy. I am a lazy fish keeper so it just looked bad with mine. I see some I love on the internet, but I just don't feel like scrubbing a tank once a week.
  11. I have not replaced any lately, although the motor on my AC70 just died a week ago. I haven't got around to replacing it yet. Ok, so you buy one, try it out, and let me know how it goes. I have replaced them in the past with no problems at all.

  13. What Calamity said, plus just be sure the new one has an o-ring in place and it shouldn't leak at all.
  14. I love my Tetra Deepwater Air pump. I've had it for 10+ years and never replaced a part on it and it powers 4 airstones.
  15. Mine is HOMERJ918. Not just goldfish pics though. Pretty much anything I take pictures of and feel like posting.
  16. I serviced my old one like about after 5 months..(not bragging, just sharing.. ) But it was really filthy when I serviced it.. Now, I service mine like every 8-9 weeks... or as often or when schedule permits yeah, my "about 8" can sometimes venture to 12 I made a comparison between the HW 303 B and the Hw 302, and was surprised that the bigger model is less filthy inside after servicing.. This is based on a 3 week comparison.. Maybe the big CF itself really helps with the waste.. I dunno really but this is just based on experience Maybe it's the amount of biomedia it can hold to process the waste better.

  18. Are you using the little skimmer part in addition to the other intake? Mine made some noise until I realized the water level was just below the skimmer, causing it. Hi! I do have the skimmer set up but the water is above it. It really sounds like the motor humming. Not making bad clunky noises, just loud buzzing/humming. Potentially hasn't purged all the air yet, but it doesn't sound like an air/water noise. Ugh. I guess I will check the impeller when I get home to be sure it isn't loose. How much noise would you say yours makes? Check the impeller shaft. Mine was broken in shipping along with my UV bulb. It's either a plastic or ceramic shaft and was broken in half. They shipped me one out right away, I installed it and it was pretty much silent from that point on.

    New Betta Sparky

    Very cool looking betta
  20. He's a beautiful fish Dawn. I think most Oscars tend to lay around like that if they are the only fish in the tank, but most of the time they do that to themselves
