I tried fasting, peas, different food, massive water changes, small water changes. This guy keeps floating. It has gotten worse since I got him, but he was floaty to being with. I keep my levels under control, the tang is fairly well established.. It seems to always float to one side, and the side is bulging and sort of misshapen. I think there might be something sticking out of it, but I can not tell..? He will swim down if someone comes to the tank, or for food, but sort of floats around otherwise. Here's a video, you can see his stomach floats up then flips to that same side it always does... Thanks for reading.
  2. I pulled out all the stuff they didn't eat. I guess I'll try again in a week or so. What sort of garlis? Does it have to be fresh or powder? Was the fresh leaf spinach ok?
  3. Bahh, I knew I should have skipped the peas. |: I put it all the junk in a food processor and mashed it up good. Then I stirred in the hot jello mix. But even if the veggies were too chunky wouldn't they still be eating the tuna jello bit? x___x I didn't use a stove at all, just microwave. It didn't look lik it was mixing through, so I used 3 packs of gelatin, with a little over a cup of junk. I must have a really crappy blender, I had to switch it to a food processor half way through and the carrots didn't get mashed. |:
  4. ..it did smell quite horrible. xD I was following instructions in one of the stickied threads. I don;t even know what it's SUPPOSED to look like. Here's a picture of mine: I'm slightly tempted to try it myself.
  5. ...wait cook the veggies? I thought they just needed like, partially cooked. D: I put them in water and microwaved them for like 4 minutes and they got all soft and mooshy. I think -one- fish is eating it. |:
  6. I made the gel food! It even got gelatinous and everything, I was all excited to throw it in the tank.. But they completely ignored it. |: I chopped it smaller and threw it back in and..they spit it out. |: It was three packs of unflavored gelatin, half a can to a can of tuna, half a cup (canned) peas, fresh spinach leaves, fresh broccoli, fresh baby carrots, all chopped up and blended and the jello mix stirred in, refrigerated and all. What did I do wrong? >:
  7. I have 5 commons, and maybe 5 or 6 fancies. And a small bunch of rosy reds. d:
  8. So I should be safe moving some of the goldfish over with the first filter, right?
  9. Hey~ I have a 55 gal full of goldfish and have finally gotten the stuff needed to set up my second 55. I want to split the fancies from the commons. It has two filters, a crappy Tetra 280 and a Marineland 350. I have two more 350s not in use. Can I just switch one of the filters and the fish at once and expect only a slight bump? The tank has been running for a few months now with no problems. If I can just switch a filter over, which one should I use? The 55 currently has..5 4inchish commons, and a bunch of fancies under 3inch. Slightly overstocked. but that's not the topic, so don't bring it up. It's not a bowl and everyone is happy.
  10. Ahh, okok. I think I willl just get two small packages of the Hikari Lionhead. x___x
  11. Eep, but as the size goes up the shipping gets more expensive. xD Who do you buy from on eBay?
  12. Can you use a credit card directly with eBay? I was under the impression you need a paypal account, or it was atleast safer that way. And Paypal confuses me. x___x
  13. How is ebay simpler? xD I havent't ventured too much into it, but I'm afraid of scammers and I know Amazon will protect me.
  14. Ahh, ok. So they are the same thing then. I thought a little bit of price difference was common but not that bad.. I know which one I;m choosing. ;D Thanks alll~
  15. Hey~ I want to order about 10-15$ worth of food through Amazon. I keep coming across differences n price though? First example: HERE is wheatgerm for .45 cents for 3.5 ounces, but HERE is 7 ounces for $16? Am I missing something? Is wheat germ even good for goldfish? Here is another one: THIS is the same as THIS but one is about $12 more? I'm so confused. Also, if anyone wants to suggest something off there, I can buy a few different things. I just want to go through Amazon.. =/ Thanks for reading~
  16. Tap pH was 6 before, for months, but it appears now to have upped itself. I checked it just now and it was 7.2. The store was out of town, I'm not sure on their pH. -My- acclimation was slow, but the fish store had new shipments laying around so these fish might have just come in to them also. I overhead them talking about many deaths and heat packs running out. I do not think they are, they never nipped at the long finned black skirts they were with before or any of the other goldfish that have quarantined with them. The fins seem to be getting more and more frayed, down to the base of the tail now. I already stated I was doing a water change.
  17. Even though they are brand new fish from a ###### pet store that may very possibly be stressed you are certain it's water quality? I've had them for less than 24 hours.I do not see how that works out.
  18. It's 11.47PM, it's not like I can run right out and grab those. Tanks pH is 7.2. Tap pH is a little less. And that is since a large waterchange last night. I'm doing another large change now. It also appears the white tips are appearing on the fins. I have fungus clear tablets to throw in there; should I salt or not?
  19. Uh, a few minutes, did teo tests, checked my tap pH and it appears to have risen. I know how to do tests. And I do not have KH and GH. Ammonia is ever so slightly green, rather low but readable.
  20. Oop, just checked the PH. 7.2 Guess again? I'll post readings for the rest momentarily.
  21. I have an API master test kit, the drops. There is crushed coral in there. Yes, 6 coming from the tap, and these aren't my only goldfish. I have some going on a year old now in the same condtions with no adverse effects so I have a hard time believing that.
  22. 6ish; it's what all my fish are in and they've never had problems with it.
  23. I'll get that stuff in a bit, did a big water change before they went in last night. Low PH. Water is room temperature, so like coldish. Crappy filter. There's a bunch of minnows in there that have been in there for quite some time happily. New fish added are 2 tiny ryukins, inchish in length, and an oranda, inch and a halfish? QT tanks is 10 gallons and was recently used to QT two locng finned black skirts that had no fraying; they are happily in another tank. Tanks has been running for over a month now, and it was well seeded, pretty sure it's cycled.
  24. Hey~ I got two little calicos and a little white oranda yesterday from a shady pet store. They were perfectly fine. After not being able to check on them since last night, I come to find their fins are all frayed and horrid. They are in a quarantine tank with a bunch of minnows and none of them seem affected..yet. They are a bit floaty, but I do not see white edges on the frayed parts..? I haven't really observed if the minnows may have done it. Here's a video: MUTE IT. I'm a mouth breather. =/ The tank has been established for awhile, and a few fish just moved safely out of quarantine there yesterday. I salted the tank to the basic instructions on the salt immediately after putting them in yesterday. Help? HERE is a top view picture of them last night, no frayed fins. >:
  25. Mk, I'll go throw a tablet it and..watch it fizz apparently. Thanks ;D
