  1. Hmmm,I can't say as I've ever noticed any of mine doing that or not. Trinket or Daryl are probably the ones to know for sure. Dang, now I'm going to be going cross-eyed trying to see if any my Tele's including babies do it. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.
  2. That's how I got my young calico Tele as well. It was in with a whole tankful of little calico Fantails. They were knocking it around pretty badly. So I decided to bring it home, lol. The fact that I got it for the 3.99 Fantail price was an added bonus.
  3. Micah actually has grown. Was easier to spot right off, lol. Even blurry the new baby looks like a little beauty.
  4. Here ya go. This is right after I got her.
  5. Very nice set ups on all of them!
  6. It looks kind of like the piece I have in the one 55. I don't have a close up shot of it but it also looks a lot like yours on the bigger end. I've never had any problems when using it but I've had it for a couple of years. Can't remember what type it is tho'. And I have high ph (8-8.2) out of the tap so that might be why.
  7. Thanks Trinket! I honestly have no idea. I kind of hope she keeps the gold as well but do love white fish so that will be fine as well. Thanks Tink! Yeah,it's actually a lightish orange right now. Thanks Shawna!
  8. Haven't posted any pics of her in a while. As you can see she is not going to be a Tri-Color much longer. She is losing all her black. Still a pretty girl tho'.
  9. Nope, not me this time. Good looking fish tho'.
  10. They may have had them from the get go or not. It's just I can't make out much of anything until they hit 1-2 weeks old, lol. Then I can at least see them half decently. My eyes aren't what they used to be.
  11. tink it was right around 2 weeks that I started noticing the dorsals... maybe even 1 week and a half. How are your little guys doing?/Did the parents spawn again? Same here. That's when they got big enough to see, lol.
  12. Thanks all! I culled out 10 more since those pics were taken. The eyes are starting to develope now. Some more so than others. Right now the biggest thing going on is quite a few fused tails. Nicely shaped and all but fused. Won't be culling those tho' as it doesn't matter since they aren't being raised for show but pets.As to what they are being fed just about everthing. They get Hikari First Bites,Decapsulated Brine Shrimp Eggs,Frozen Baby Brine Shrimp,Dried Daphnia Micro-Flakes,Freeze dried Rotifers,GP Artemia Replacement Diet,Omega One Goldfish Flakes crumbled, soaked ProGold pellets as well as gel food containing a mix of those foods plus Freeze dried Krill and Bloodworms crumbled and mixed in. They also like Zuccini and oranges. They truly are swimming appetites, lol.
  13. Took these last week and finally got them on Photo Bucket. Their color shows up different depending on light and angle, lol. A lot of them seem to have ruby colored pupils rather than black. Possible Lavenders I wonder? http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-091.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-092.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-093.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-094.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-095.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-096.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...ry/3-22-097.jpg http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm78/mi...Fry/3-22-09.jpg
  14. If they have colors other than just black & white, they are considered Tri-Colors I'm pretty sure. A Panda is black & white only.
  15. I'd say your tinkering was definately a success! It looks great.
  16. They look great! What kind are they?
  17. I hear ya on the water in the mouth, lol. I always start mine mid-level where it's clear, than put my finger over until I get it down where the funk is. At least that way the water I get is relatively gunk free.
  18. They are really coming along! You are doing a great job with them.
  19. Nine times out of ten they end up all white.
  20. Thanks Claire! If my little one grows to look anything like your Tiny Tim I will be very happy.
  21. Wow,big difference! Looks great and nice to be able to see how beautiful the fish are.
  22. Mine never seemed to. No thrashing or struggling. They just slowed down and the breathing became less and less till it stopped. And yes,it's basically an overdose of an anesthetic.
  23. So, then, how much clove oil did you use? This is the instructions I found: Fill a half gallon container or smaller with tank water, add your sick goldfish. Half fill a small jar with tank water, add one full teaspoon of clove oil and shake well until the water turns white. Add the clove water to the container with your goldfish. I definitely would rather use too much and, as I hope to never use it again, I don't see any point in just not using the whole bottle anyway..... Here's how I do for the bigger fish. Read this somewhere but can't remember where now. It works very quickly. I've never had one struggle at all. Add 3.7 ml clove oil (this is one bottle) to 1 tsp milk. (I use an empty pill bottle) shake well Add to one gallon of water in a bucket/bowl stirring slowly to mix in. You can already have the fish in the water (I do) or add it after. Mine have simply slowed down more and more as the clove oil mix is added. They are gone within a few seconds of the full amount going in. I then wait at least 1/2 hour to an hour before removing the fish, just to be sure.
