  1. They are adorable! With little one's like that,it is better to feed 3-4 small meals a day if you can rather than 1 or 2 larger ones.
  2. Love the tank and those two make a beautiful pair.
  3. Awww, don't ya love it when they get big enough to actually see, lol.
  4. The new camera takes very nice pics. Course having two beautiful subjects doesn't hurt either!
  5. Yeah thanks noted . . . I've just been surfing and I found the fluvial FX5 with a rate of 600 gph (with full media) 900 gph without media . . . still my concern is . . . the current inside the tank. I've never had experience with these big filters. Would my GFes be comfortable with the strong current? I'll be back and post a pix of my tank. I have the Fluval FX5 and Fluval 404 canisters on my 75 gallon.
  6. Sue,glad it turned out ok. It really is fairly easy, lol. Tonya, have you made yours yet?
  7. How beautiful! I bet they really are enjoying their new home.
  8. Not freeze dried, altho' I do use them in my gel food as well if I have any,but actual frozen. Phaerdra & Snow Dancer both do fine with frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms and Emerald Entee. Any fresh veggies/fruits seem to be ok as well. It's just any type of dry processed foods that cause problems.
  9. Thank You! Thank You! I got her from Tommy's auction on Goldfishnet.com last November. Thank You! Thanks Sue! She is doing good aside from the food issue. Thank You!
  10. I just cleaned around the mass of Java Moss in mine and pushed it gently out of the way as I went.
  11. Just throw it in the blender and make sure there are no "pieces" no matter how small then add it. Should be fine. Yes,I have her and Snow Dancer together in the 29 gallon since they both have food problems. It really is easier and the others get to eat normally. Altho' they do get the gel food in their rotation as well just not everyday like the other two.
  12. Just a word on the ProGold. I have to turn it into powder in the blender for my two before using it in the gel food. Otherwise it will still cause SD to flip and Phaedra to sink.
  13. Mine spent their first 2 weeks in a 2-3 gallon acrylic tank. Thing is,even if the water params are good there could still be bacteria from any food left to go bad that won't show up on the regular tests. I used a piece of air hose with a nylon mesh bag over the end to carefully clean mine for the first 3 weeks. I then used it to siphon replacement water back in. Just go very slowly. Did mine once a day usually. I also use a heater for them. I keep the temp at 76-78. Both Daryl & Trinket are a great source for raising fry info as they both have lots of experience with it. I constantly check and recheck their posts over in the Breeding section on raising fry as well as a few others. Hopefully they will chime in if they see this as this is only my second time of having fry so don't have a lot of prior experience at it. Am still learning as I go.
  14. Thank You! I know, lol. Really good deals on eBay locally for entire set ups are how I ended up with so darn many. Thank You! And I'm glad you like her.
  15. Sue,I use 3 jars of baby food veggies,1 jar of fruit and a tablespoon each of whatever pellets/flakes I have powderized. I use two paks of gelatin mixed into about 3/4 to 1 cup of boiling water, then add that into the food mix and stir well with a spoon.
  16. The water should be boiling so the gelatin will desolve. How much depends on how sloppy your food mix is. I use 3 jars of baby food veggies,1 jar of fruit and a tablespoon each of whatever pellets/flakes I have powderized. I use two paks of gelatin mixed into about 3/4 to 1 cup of boiling water, then add that into the food mix and stir well with a spoon.
  17. They are all very pretty and will be quite striking once you get them back to good health. I especially like the tri-color Telescope!
  18. Good job! Sounds like you have a handle on things now.
  19. Thank You! Thanks Chrissy! I know, her & Snow Dancer both have those huge eyes. Thank You! Thanks! "Phae" rymes with way and "dra" rymes wih duh, lol.
