  1. well two tanks in the works 55gal and 16gal....right not Olivia has my fish (Kingyo and Wink rescues) until the cycle is complete...its hard to wake up and see an empty tank... def. miss my babies! ive never had to fast my fish...i know it must be hard...keep yourself busy by doing water readings....tank scrubing...u know...all the other boring stuff!

  3. hey guys!!!! just got a new plant today! and the lfs tank that i got it from had tiny snails ALL in it.....so doing some research throughout the treads, and reading about disinfecting them....i couldnt find how to get rid of these snails....i read that paraiste clear will get rid of them, is this true?
  4. dont be depressed! just give it some time...some one else more exp. will help out....plse if you can...answer these qustions Test Results for the Following: Ammonia Level? Nitrite Level? Nitrate level? Ph Level, (If possible,KH and GH and chloramines)? Ph Level out of the Tap? Tank size (How many Gals) and How long has it been running? what is the name and size of the filter/s? How often do you change the water and how much? How many fish in the tank and their size? What kind of water additives or conditioners? Any medications added to the tank? Add any new fish to the tank? What do you feed your fish Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt", bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, ect..?

  7. i really couldnt offer any advice...im just learning myself.... have you filled out all the questions in the white box? what kinda of testers do u use? are they drop test, or the quick dips? those quick dips from what i understand arent very accurate. how did you clean the tank and filters? seems like your working on cycling, so am i

  9. hey rob, sorry about your loss and sick fish. I've done something similar a few weeks back. While you are waiting for a mod/helper to come by and help u out, please post your water readings..the quetions in the white box above the thread....also, what did you used to clean out your tank?

  13. ok guys, tank is still in cycle...olivia has reported that fish are doing GREAT!!!! But i have a question I am treating my tank (no fish) for flukes with parasite clear, and im on my second dose...how ever, there is this bright green stuff that floats in the tank while the tabs are dissolving...what the heck is that stuff...is it part of the meds? or is it something else?

  19. no, it shouldnt hurt them at all. If anything, its good for them. Is the tank close to a window, or where sunlight shines on it?
  20. great job! Ive been following your other post, and your i bet your speech went perfectly! Its always hard to stand in front of a crowd, and give a speech, however its much easier when you KNOW your material! Very good! Totally impressed with your report! Im glad you had the chance to share that info with a crowd. Hopefully you reached out to someone with 6 goldfish at home in a 5 gallon tank!
  21. gald you decided it temporary. Im new to the hobby myself, but i;ve done LOTS of research on goldfish. And im pretty sure everyone else will agree that goldfish need 10-15 gallons each depending on size and breed. This website is wounderful when it comes to researching info! Lots of great topics on here. Good luck with your new fish! BTW
