  1. 11:35 PM is hardly late, Alex. jk. lolz. Are the bumps white or the same color as your fish? It could be a possible number of things; mating, fungus, etc.
  2. I, GoldfishGoddess *strikes diva pose* love the new banner. It makes the place more..I don't know...Underwatery? If that is a word!
  3. I would just think it would be eaiser to tape a background to the back of the tank
  4. Oh poor Gomer. I have never seen a cockroach and I hope I never do, especcilly not in my goldfish's throat. It's so good you got it out, I would never have been that brave!
  5. OMG! Look at all those fish cramped together, especcilly the ones near the top (they look squashed) but Ranchugirl is right.
  6. You know alot about fish, dayrl. I always wondered why some petstores did that. Thank you
  7. yes it's very sad and every time I go to a petstore like that I feel really bad for the poor fish that live there , but remember that petstores are in the buisness of marketing not losing money, they won't spend money on one tank per fish. They'd be spending more money than they make. I wish that petstores wouldn't only think about the money but the fact that fish lives are in their hands, but i don't very many petstores think that way at the momment.
  8. The freshwater lake which I live right by has a lot of beautiful seaweeds, so my question to anyone who could help even in a little way is would that be okay to put in my aquarium (with quarintine of course)? My other question is (question... more like questionS!) are there seaweeds that are bad for goldfish? also read this link Premature Aging of Lake do you think that would effect the plants? would I just be safer and better off if I bought them from a pet store? Thanks in advance.
  9. You want the most surface area you can get, the smaller the surface area the smaller number of fish you can get.
  10. huh???? PearlscaleFan as for your age comment "14- Doesnt that make you feel jealous? Im sooo young. Hehe..." No, it doesn't make me jelous, because I'm only one year older than you. Teeheee.
  11. If it's a fish that was really important to me that died I usually cry and cry and cry (usually lasts longer than an hour) and then I take her out and I give her a funeral outside. Then I cry a little bit more. I mope around for hours and all I can think about is crying but I don't/. cry1 But if it's a fish that I wasn't very attached to (but I still loved them of course!) I usually don't cry that much if not at all, but I feel very bad.
  12. Yes, but just enough to replace what was missing. If you have let's say a 20 gallon and you take out four gallons during the water change. You put in what salt amount is appropriate for the 4 gallons. Hope this helps!
  13. Hi guccibutterfly! Welcome to the forums!!
  14. I leave my fishies in, so they don't go through the stress of moving from one place to another and then back again (this removes some of their protective coating).
  15. Congrats on your new fish! I can't wait for pics Sometimes I buy fish from nooppee as well, and if take good care of them they do very well. I bought Fin a year ago and he is still well, and I hope he stays well for a long long time more. I love Fin so much. And I just bought my new Oranda from nooppee as well, and i love her too.
  16. Okay I'm making the poll....credit goes to the people who were keeping the ideas in your heads.
  17. I haven't EVER changed my biowheel and it is still good and clean. So I wouldn't change it unless it breaks or something. Here's what I do. I take the biowheel and use the tap on full blast water and I shake it really hard under the tap, usually all this guck will come out of it. Keep doing this until you think it's all gone and then rinse it and let it dry completly and then I just stick it back in the filter. Hope this helps!
  18. I like Creampuff. I'll name my next fish after the next fish that. The next fish I think is going to be an oranda too amd I'm going to call him/her Sweet Pea if it's a light light orange.
