  1. thanks guys! i am hoping to move the guys into a new home soon. i have a 55 gallon tank and stand (with a complete but not yet fully functional setup) in my dining room. however the situation regarding my acqusition of the tank itself and setup is sort of messy. someone who was staying with me for a month gave it all to me, but as she is now back with her psychotic ex, i don't know if i'll be able to keep it or not.
  2. before: now: i'm hoping he doesn't lose his 'stache and maybe end up with some white. ps- sorry for not being on for a while life's been very very very crazy. not that anyone missed my posting too many pics!
  3. so I am interested now too... do you use a filter and airstone? one of those links said you didn't have to, the other said you did. are they common/easy to find? i've seen some albino frogs in aquarium stores before, but i don't think they were ADF's.
  4. http://s165.photobucket.com/albums/u48/luu...clover/?start=0 There's mine, and if you want better quality pics of mine, just lemme know. PM me I guess. I have a red and black oranda and a pearlacale. Good Luck with the project!!!
  5. Ha! My husband has this... apparently he's been having to much of the "special" food!!!
  6. Still love that Godiva! She seems like such a Diva! And Sparky reminds me so much of my moorgie. I just love your fish!!!
  7. Too cute! Very nice wen and cheeks, no wonder he's smug!!
  8. That's very sad, and I am sorry for your loss. I think all animals have emotions, but that's just me. Some people think animals don't have souls, thus can't go to heaven. If that's the case, I wouldn't be my heaven anyway. I haven't lost a goldfish yet, so I don't have any experience in this, but I would say they probably do grieve.
  9. I've always liked Italy!!! Sadly, i doubt the US would ever follow suit. Heck, in California, the "Gubernator" wanted to pass a law to euthanize animals in shelters sooner to save more money. THAT is MAJOR CRAP!!!
  10. perhaps, perhaps. it probably is a groundhog in the commercial, maybe my insomnia grounghog has dental issues
  11. I agree, they're absolutely stunning, but I definitely don't agree with the process at all. I may eat foods filled with unnatural crap in them, but I'll keep my fish natural. Goldies are so beautiful anyway. I'll just keep dreaming of funky colored fishes.
  12. If I could sell my 'dreamfish' on Ebay I'd be loaded. of course, I'd use some of the proceeds for more thanks so I could keep them! That commercial is funny, but I have tried Rozerem, and it doesn't work. I was still awake and talking to Abe and the 'beav. Now that i think about it, that sounds disgusting.
  13. So recently, I've had two rather odd goldfish dreams. One was where new fish were given to me, but I didn't have near enough room for them so I had to decided which ones to keep. They were so cool looking though, Pink and black checkered orandas , Purple Lionheads... all kinds of neat stuff. Last night, I had a dream Capt. Moorgan was a blue lionhead and jumped out of the tank to kiss me. Dharma kept getting sucked up into some dream-world air uptake something or other and eventually died, but then came back to life. I didn't even take any sleep aids last night...
  14. Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you and your new little ones.
  15. So today, the husband and I had some time to kill before picking up the new puppy. We decided to browse the LFS/pet store (They're called an "Aquarium & Pets" store.). So, one of their main display tanks with large fancy goldfish in it had at least two goldies in there battling SEVERE SBD, if not full blown dropsy. they were swimming completely upside down, the whole nine yards. Many of their other tanks had dead fish in them... That was bad enough. But to top it off, they were selling tattooed parrot fish. They were labeled as "Lipstick parrots". They had tattooed on lipstick and flowers (poorly) tattooed on their sides. My husband and I were absolutely taken aback at the fact that they were selling them. This is a local chain, but some of their stores are kept up decently. I could not pick my jaw up off the floor. I will never, ever, ever buy anything from them again... NOTHING. Another BIG CHAIN mega-mart had a disgusting display when I looked at it the other day as well. they had one tank full of VERY juvenile fancy GF, with about five of them dead swirling around at the top of the tank... consequently being picked at by the tankmates. I think I will stick with vvvv and any other decent LFS I can find, I still have three I haven't scouted out. I'm not in the market right now, but I will never ever ever step foot in that one store again.
  16. Cool series of pics and Congrats! Felt like I was opening them myself!
  17. Algae wafers actually worked great to help my goldies' constipation issues. May be a fluke accident, but it really worked for me. I did fasting and peas, but the wafers actually gave them a nice solid poop. I feed mine wafers every few days. they love em.
  18. Yea, it's a marking and coloration thing.. not a breed. Like you can have calico telescopes, ryukins, or orandas. From what I understand most (perhaps all) "Pandas" are either telescopes (also called panda moors and butterfly pandas) or orandas. (and i'd love to get my fishnet on either!!!)
  19. Yea, I'm aware of the "Panda Syndrome", it stinks... but I've always wanted an all-white goldfish anyway, so I figure I'll take lots of pictures while I have the black colors and reminisce. Seriously though, thank you all so much for your responses. I'm quite hesitant to buy online, just because I'm afraid of shipping. I know it's quite popular, especially to get your hands on a rare fish. Knowing you guys have had positive experiences sets my mind at ease. (At least a little )
  20. What a cutie! You must be a proud fishy momma!
  21. I love the pearlie with the 'stache!
  22. Great! Thanks so much for your help guys!
  23. Nevermind the Tommy question, I found him.
