Just did a 100%  water change tonight and noticed that both fish are now occasionally flashing? This is day 4 of prazi - I also did a stupid thing and probably killed all my bacteria  😢  now I have that to contend with too.

Anyone know if using prazi and prime just lower o2 in the water or do they do anything worse - this is the only contraindication that I could find. Hikari says not to use any conditioner containing sulfur, but instead of course to buy their water conditioner...seachem says not to use the prazi and instead to buy their anti parasitic - I've also ordered aquarium salt, should be here wednesday

As long as you didn't clean out the medium in the filter you should still have your cycle. Just test your water and you will find out :)

Do you have an air stone. You can plug that in and it will give you more O2 in the tank. I have always used Prazi and Prime together and never had an issue with it. Also salt you can buy Pickling salt. I use Morton's Canning and Picking salt. Its so much cheaper in the long run. :)

    They look cute. 🥰

Are you looking for just girls or boys or one of each? Just wonder :)

I'm getting the desire to get a five gallon guppy tank.  Please talk me out of it!

NO WAY! That is way way to small for those kinds of fish. They breed like rats. 😮

I miss having guppies for some reason.  I'm eyeing a 5 gallon tank on the target app.  Is that too small for a few female guppies and a boy guppy?

Or I could relocated my TV and put a second tank on my dresser?  I could move my printer and put my TV there?  Or measure the night stand and put the aquarium there?

Help!  I got the desire for guppies!

Yup it would be since they would reproduce like rabbits. You wouldn't be able to keep up with them.

So I had a 20 gallon LONG I was going to use for guppies but I decided to move away from the overbreeding monsters. I had to go WAYYYYY in town and I saw a fish shop there... I went in and I spotted a fancy goldfish section. I instantly saw a little cutie I wanted for my tank. He was labelled a fantail, but I saw a little headgrowth. But then another swam up beside him, also with dinky headgrowth... And I ended up getting them both. So yeah... Lol. May need a tank upgrade after a while. Had to rush to work and did not get to set up their stand or tank properly... But filled the tank for them and acclimated them and dosed their tank with SAFE and will get them situated tomorrow. And take pics and etc when their light comes in. I hope they do well. Been aaaaaaaaages since I tried goldfish indoors. Mine just do so much better outdoors.

Oh boy! bitten by the goldfish bug lol. I wish I could have fish outside, but due to Raccoons and opossums, we can't do that at all. The raccoons will trash anything we leave in that backyard. Its like they have a party back there. ROFL

    I can't wait to see them :)

Thanks, I have to admit that I may be a little more paranoid than I would like...the white thing on his fin was a bit of filter media from the new floss   lol

    That can happen ROFL

    also, I mis-typed - pH is 7.6

Oh good, cause 6.6 is on the low end and can cause whiteness on the fish. Basically burning there skin. 😮

They are doing great!  However one came with sbd but it is getting better after I did an epsom salt bath.  So I think it will get better!

If you can find it. Get some Duckweed. That will normally clean out the fish and help with SBD :)

Im so glad they are doing great! :)

It is kind of old. My other betta is pushing past 5 years now. I know where the parameters should be, I just didn’t have time to test the water yet. I also did not have time to do a water change either. It’s definitely some sort of parasite or infection going on I want to believe. I will be able to test the water and do a water change when I get back home from work. He’s a smaller betta, a koi plakat. For all i know, he could possibly pass away while I’m at work. He was looking still very rough this morning. It wouldn’t deteriorate fast water quality wise. He had a strong bio cycle. I modified the filter to make sure of that. I’m a pretty advanced keeper, I’m just stumped on what to do with him treatment wise.

Photo Hun? That would help me :)

As a side note...turns out rosy minnows will definitely pick at the fins of other fish, watched them do it. Needless to say, they have been removed. And since QT is just starting I went back to the store and picked up the black demekin that I almost got instead of the oranda, I'll just have to upgrade to something larger than a 40 breeder once they start to come to size...

I know that due to their eye sight its not often recommended to keep telescope eye'd fish with more normal fish, but I heavily plant my tanks with anacharis, duck weed, and offer salt-free nori and other veggies regularly to offset any competition. Eventually they will be used to hand feeding - right now they are not sure about hands in the water.

    :hi and :welcome

I agree with @spider man I had 2 goldfish in my 40 breeder tank and I can say when they got to there full size, they looked kinda cramped in there. If I could I would have upgraded to a bigger tank or a pond.

But welcome. I know in times like this it sucks that forums are going down. We are trying to stay up and running. 🤗

I was with goldfishkeepers.com too. Welcome here. I would remove the minnows. 2 goldfish in a 40 breeder will grow to their potential nicely. Just keep testing the water, feed very sparingly until you know your tank is cycled. Do weekly water changes and use prime as your conditioner too.

It's not that bad here lol 🧐🤣

I have 3 goldfish and noticed my one goldfishes anal fins are over the caudal fins (like instead of being under there over.... is that a problem or issue... just want to know if it's normal or not

    A Photo would help a lot. :)

It shouldn't be an issue though.
