I own 3 50w Via Aqua Stainless Steel Heaters at the moment. The oldest has been running for 2 months now. I know a lot of people love the EboJagers but I wanted a heater I did not need to worry about breaking, so I decided to give these a go. So far I'm thrilled.
Pros:
External temp control, no need to get hands wet to adjust it
Can't break it
Keeps the temperature dead on even in a small tank (10g)
Smaller heating element than most glass heaters
Fully submersible
Cons:
Temp control reads off (ie setting it at 78 keeps the tank at 82), not a big deal once you learn to compensate though
It may not stand the test of time, so far it's been great but I've seen some reviews that suggest these heaters may die in 6-8 months in some cases
Instructions don't mention the temperature sensor (seperate from the element) which is confusing at first
And a special warning for those who forget to unplug things! Don't leave your plugged in heater sitting on your wood floor, it can and will burn a hole in the floor and destroy the heater (my friend did this).
